“I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, for You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities. And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a wide place.” (Psalm 31: 7, 8)

As we go through these two verses we realize that they were written as a reminder of what exactly the Lord wants to do in our lives. So, don’t hesitate to cry out for those blessings and give God true praises. He wants to deliver you from any trouble so you’ll be able to give Him all glory.

1.    “I’ll be glad and rejoice in Your mercy.” The goodness of the Lord is one of the causes for us not to be abandoned when we’re about to fall for a temptation. The Lord will hold us up and give us shelter even though our feet are about to slip. So, it’s good to praise the goodness of our God. Try to do it because He’s good, but do it with happiness and joy!

2.    “You have considered my trouble”. The Lord doesn’t forsake those who trust in Him. Our Heavenly Father considers our sorrows and He gives us escape whenever our souls are overwhelmed with all sorts of temptation. So, let God take care of you and remember that He’ll be by your side to give you victory whatever the circumstances. God’s exactly what His Word states. The Most High still considers the troubles of all those who belong to Him. Don’t let yourself be defeated by our opponent; all his words are only lies.

3.    “You have known my soul in adversities”. A servant of God might have gone too far and now he or she will have to turn to God in prayer and confess his or her sin and ask for forgiveness now that he or she has acknowledged his or her mistake. The Lord will rescue His children from suffering even if they’re overwhelmed by anguish. The Almighty God doesn’t forget any of those who belong to Him; He considers those whose souls are suffering.

4.    “And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy”. How good our God is! He’s still good even when we’ve committed an error! He won’t deliver us into our opponent’s hands just like it happened to David in that passage with Bath-Sheba (II Samuel 11) and the count of the Israelites (I Chronicles 21: 1). All we have to do is to repent and come back to our first love so the Most High will operate in our favor. The Lord can be sad with our attitudes, but He’ll never leave us in the devil’s hands.

5.    “You have set my feet in a wide place”. The adversities we might go through signal the fact that we aren’t where the Lord wants us to be. We find out how good and powerful our Lord is when we learn to fulfil His will and not ours. He never trades us with our enemy or delivers us into his hands. God is a Father who’s interested in the welfare of His children.

In Christ, with love,
