Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Psalm 24:3-5

The king and psalmist David was worried about who could get rid of a sea of problems and ascend into the hill of the Lord, or stand in the holy place. Many people today are so caught up in the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches and the lusts of other things that they do not realize that ascending into the hill of the Lord and standing in His holy place should be a priority in their life. When they wake up, it will be too late.

David knew that this was the secret to getting rid of the devil’s doings. For the psalmist, he who ascended into the mountain of the Lord was not a privileged individual, but someone who learned from the Most High what to do to avoid being caught in the snare of the fowler. The instructions helped the psalmist and, following the order of the Holy Spirit, he wrote them down. So let’s see what the necessary conditions to achieve these positions are.

Those who aspire to be with Him must have clean hands and a pure heart. No one should rely on the teachings of men, but solely on what the Bible says. God will not give His glory to another (Isaiah 42:8). That which man makes or creates has no eternal value. From the day the Word of God was written until the present time, no error has ever been found in it, and never will there be any. Those who follow the precepts of men make a big mistake. Only what comes from God’s heart is eternal and valuable.

The spirit of vanity has deceived many people, which cause them to change their values overnight and start focusing on material possessions and in sins because according to their new mindset they need to satisfy their lustful desires. Whoever indulges in vanity is in the hands of the prince of this world and, therefore, no longer gives due importance to the divine work.

A servant of God must never swear deceitfully or make a decision contrary to what the Word of the Lord says. As servants, we must do only what the Almighty authorizes. If you have not received any divine guidance, then do not make any resolution. In God’s Kingdom no one has a special privilege for the Lord gives everyone the same opportunity. Unfortunately, there are people who do not let themselves be taught or do not fulfill what they are told when they receive certain guidelines.

The Father taught us all these things because He wants us to receive His blessing and His righteousness. This is what should matter to us and be the goal of our life. So be faithful to what God teaches and your life will be overwhelmed by the awesome presence of the Lord.

In Christ with love,
