You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield.

Psalm 115:11

The best option we can make is to respect the Lord, but few Christians really do that. Perhaps my dear reader is one of them. As a matter of fact, no one admits that they have no respect for the Almighty, but the way they live demonstrates the degree of fear in their life. In fact, our attitudes towards the prohibitions, exhortations, and commands contained in the Holy Scriptures show the type of relationship we have with the Father. Those who fear and respect them lead a good life.

Speaking straightforwardly: those who respect the Almighty also trust Him and when harassed by temptations they show whether they love Him or not. No matter what ordeal you are going through: if you respect the Lord, you shall not compromise. On the other hand, those who fall prey to temptations prove they do not trust in the Lord. The temptation can be a long-term illness, for which people say there is no solution, but if you actually put your trust in God, you will come out of the ordeal as Abraham did: steadfast. Your \”Isaac\” will come at the right time, when your faith proves you are respectful towards what God says.

Your attitude during times of trial shows whether you trust in God or not. Those who accept solutions provided by men, who yield to sin and who do not even bother to seek the face of the Father are being very disrespectful of Him. No one can shirk seeking in the Lord the capacity to truly fear Him and obey Him so that His plans are fulfilled.

The proof that you have little respect for the Almighty can be perceived through the way you live. He cannot help those who do not worship him. In small trials, minor temptations and the issues that many consider unimportant, we prove our relationship with the Father. He who trusts in the Lord never ceases to be helped in times of demonic onslaughts against him or his loved ones.

How many forms of evil have come into your life? This shows that God has not been able to be your shield. Well, to fear the Lord is to respect what He says and those who respect Him do not accept the suggestions or the provocations of the enemy. At the first sign of evil, the Christian starts to pray and gives his ultimatum because he is using the power of God. With Christ, no problem is or will be left unsolved.

Examine the Bible and see the examples of those who served God, trusted in him and proved they feared Him. With you it will be just the same. Your life can change from the moment you decide to put the Word of God in operation. While you keep on praying without being based on what is written in the Holy Scriptures, waiting for something to happen without having any real faith, you can rest assured that nothing will happen. Only those who respect what the lips of our Lord uttered will overcome the hosts of evil.

In Christ with love,
