The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.

Psalm 28: 7

Taking lessons with those who do the work of God successfully is something good. And that’s the reason why, as we read The Bible, we must listen carefully to the words of those men who were used by The Lord in the past considering that, in ITS records, we can find the secret to victory. It was not without any purpose that, David, the king of Israel, had to face a great deal of battles but he never lost anyone of them. The same goes if we prove to be good students of The Holy Spirit.

The psalmist understood that he had to make The Lord his strength because, that way, he’d never be defeated. Today, the same will happen to those who follow suit. The Word of God is to our spirit as air is to our lungs – those who don’t put IT into practice end up dying spiritually. On the other hand, those who listen to The Scriptures shall come out of all of their struggles victorious and, finally, they shall inherit eternal life.

We need to believe, to confess that The Most High is our Shield, for He will be so for all those who place their trust in Him just as He was for those men in the biblical times. Those who really believe in what The Most High is looking forward to becoming for them must confess Him; otherwise, they won’t be able to experience Him as their Shield. God grants us faith but it’s up to us to put it into practice. If we won’t do it this way we won’t have Him operating in our favour.

David said that his heart trusted in The Lord. If your heart doesn’t fully trust Him it signals that you need to spend more time meditating on The Word of God; you need to pray and ask for divine assistance. As long as your troubled thoughts rule over your life, fear will keep on tormenting you and the unknown will remain being a threat to you; this way, you’ll be oppressed by evil powers. Those who really believe in God are fearless like a lion.

What the psalmist’s wrote in the verse above is the right attitude to take for you to be helped. It’s pointless trying otherwise because they won’t work at all. In order for us to be answered and successful we must have faith,  which comes straight into our heart as we listen to The Word of God (Romans 10: 17). Therefore, we have to follow the divine map because The Word is the only road towards complete success.

Just like David, your heart will also jump with joy. Contentment comes much before the blessing is confirmed considering that a Christian sets off to the battlefield rejoicing. So, when your spirit gets the divine confirmation that you’ll be victorious happiness takes hold of it. A glad heart signals that your determination will make your dreams come true.

The praise of The Lord is never to be given only once the work is perpetrated. Those who really believe in the goodness and in the faithfulness of our Father towards His true children will praise Him with their songs even through a trial and also once the battle is over. Therefore, we must always believe that we will be helped by our God.

In Christ, with love,
