“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honour and glory forever and ever. Amen.” (I Timothy 1:17)

In the beginning, before all things existed, Jesus was with God, His beloved Father (John 1). Our Lord Jesus is the beginning of everything for He was the One who created all things: visible and invisible (Colossians 1:16). The three persons that constitute the Holy Trinity worked together to make humans in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26); yet, with sin, the Lord saw His masterpiece get separated from Him and stride towards eternal doom. However, His love prevailed and He worked out a way to redeem men from their fall.

That’s the way the Son of God came to this world: He left His glory and took off all of His divine qualities to be born in Bethlehem of Judah as a defenceless baby boy. He was like any other mortal, only He didn’t have the original sin or the nature of Satan. Christ came and paid the price of our redemption since His love for us is something beyond our understanding. We, saved people, must be very thankful to the Lord for the work done in our favor for there’s no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Apart from salvation the Most High is our sanctification as well (I Corinthians 1:30).

Jesus has been sitting to the right of our Father interceding for all of us all the time since He went back to the Heavens and His requests are always answered. When we sin He pleads our cause and then we’re forgiven. If we need power, our good Shepherd requests it and God promptly answers. We’re given counselling whenever we need it. Our Savior is awesome in all the things He does and we shall never be forsaken by Him.

Whenever two or three are gathered together in the name of Jesus, He’s there in the midst of them. (Matthew 18:20). All authority has been given to Him in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18) because those who are bold to believe in Christ will realize that Heaven and Earth will pass but His Word will never pass away (Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31, Luke 21:33). Nothing, absolutely nothing, gets out of the divine control since He can see everything in detail because He knows what is in our hearts and He also knows our words even before they’re on our lips (Psalm 139: 4).

One day, at the blow of the last trumpet, He’ll come to take us and we’ll be lifted up to meet Him in the clouds and all tears will be wiped out. Our meek and majestic Savior will lead us to His dwelling place where we will live and by His side we shall rest forever!

Jesus is much more than what we may think or imagine. Anyone can come up to Him today and have their needs supplied provided they believe in His Word. Everything changes in our world: the seasons of the year, politics, man’s concepts, just about everything, but as for the Lord our Savior, He will never change (Hebrew 13:8). To Him be the glory and all the praises forever!

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
