06/07/2016 - HOW AND WHY IS GOD WITH US?

For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that He may see no unclean thing among you, and turn away from you.  Deuteronomy 23:14

The best news we can receive is that the Lord is not distant from us, but that He walks amongst us, in the middle of the congregation, ready to listen to our prayers, protect our life and make us know His promises. Being aware of that and believing in Him, we will be promptly answered every time we pray. Therefore, we can live without any fear, for no evil shall succeed over us (Psalm 91:10). 

God can do all things for us faster than a blink of an eye. It is worth remembering that He created the light to run 300 thousand kilometers per second. Now, He is much faster than His creation. For you to understand better, let’s compare the speed of light with that of a turtle. God´s speed is that of a rocket; however, multiplied by 1 trillion times, it is much faster than the current space rocket. 

The first reason why the Lord is amongst us is to deliver us from the enemy´s capacity to do us harm, not allowing us to get involved in temptation. If we are in communion with God, and if the devil tries to come near us, whether through someone charismatic or expert in fooling others, the Father will make us sense that the evil one is behind that “innocent” or “good” offer.  

The second reason is to hand over our enemy before us. Therefore, we don’t need to hire any private investigators, spies or body guards wherever we go. If someone with a bad intention comes near us, the Lord will unmask and put such person and the demon right before us. As soon as we notice something bad, we just have to use our authority in Jesus to undo such plot. 

It is important to live in holiness, for, without it, we will not have the Most High working in us. Therefore, it is necessary for the congregation to be holy. If someone who we are acquainted with, or with whom we have a business is in error, we must warn them right away: if they don’t make things right, we have to move away from them. Isn’t this what Abraham did with his nephew, Lot, because their pastors were disputing with each other? 

If there is sin, God will not be amongst us; therefore, be alert regarding this matter. No business partner, employee, or even a spouse who gives in to sin, can make peace with us. This is so serious that when Jericho was taken over, Achan, took for himself the accursed things and that caused Israel to be defeated by the men from the city of Ai. (Joshua 7:1). That little leaven, leavened all the dough. 

Today, not all camps will suffer the wickedness of one or several of its members, for God forbid people to say in Israel that the children´s teeth are set on edge, due to the fact their fathers have eaten sour grapes (Jer 31:29). Each one will be accountable for their actions.
