You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall never be put to shame.
Joel 2.26
The prophet Joel was used by God to warn his people about the terrible days they would go through, since they had not listened to the voice of God. After foreseeing a catastrophe, this servant of the Lord was used again to speak about the good times that would come for those who would be rescued. Among other great blessings, he announced the abundance of food that they would have. Without any doubt, this prophetic word also applies to those who embrace the gospel today.
Those who have become part of the body of Christ need to learn from the Word; otherwise, they will live as those who are lost, who do not know their rights in Christ. Sadly, many of God’s people are oppressed and do not live an abundant life, because they do not understand what was prepared for them. The devil has succeeded in keeping them oppressed. Therefore, we must preach the good news to them.
Through the prophet, the Lord announced the abundance of bread. In the gospel, there are many other promises, and not only deliverance from evil, but also complete deliverance from any misfortunes man inherited from the fall of Adam. Jesus said if he makes someone free this person shall be free indeed (John 8.36). Therefore, prepare yourself to live free from any oppression, hunger, scarcity, and attacks from the enemy. After all, everything our Father has belongs to us in Christ.
So, how is your appetite? Have you satisfied your hunger for the Truth? In his Sermon of the Mountain, Christ said that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness shall be filled (Matthew 5.6). We must not say one thing and do another. We were bought at a price—the life of the Son of God—to announce his righteousness (1Corinthians 6.20). Therefore, get to know the true Bread of Life and satisfy your hunger, allowing others to see in you how great it is to be part of God’s family.
If you do not eat until satisfied, you will probably become a complainer, and will offend the Lord. On the other hand, if you are satisfied, you will praise his name forever and, when stricken by evil, you will have power to chase it away.
The Lord God deals wondrously with those who stand firm in his promises. God wants to see you triumphant. As a saved person, you will never be put to shame. All you need to do is take possession of your rights in Christ. As an epistle of the Lord (2Corinthians 3.2), the good and acceptable and perfect will of God must be read by your living.
