20/10/2012 - How is your faith doing?

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other.

II Thessalonians 1: 3

The faith the Thessalonians enjoyed caused the apostle Paul and his team to give thanks to God by the progress they had conquered through it and also love. If the same happened in our midst the converted ones and also the lost would be greatly favoured. In fact, without a matured faith we won’t be able to show sinners that The Gospel is the very answer from the Heavens to eradicate all suffering.

We know nothing about what motivated those brothers’ faith to grow dramatically but they were surely taught by The Lord how to make it happen. So, our God was glorified and people were favoured and also sinners were rescued. If we fail to progress in faith we won’t conquer many spiritual resources to pass onto those who need Jesus as well. On top of that, with a tiny faith, we won’t be able to listen to our brothers who, whatever the circumstance, are going through suffering.

Now, this is my question to you: is your faith progressing or is it at the same level it was on the day of your conversion? If progress in your trust in The Father has not taken place so far what have you been doing with those revelations coming from the preaching and the reading of The Bible? A Christian only needs to take the following steps: forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those which are ahead in order for them to press towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 3: 13, 14).

Unfortunately some people’s faith is fading out and that shows that they’re not serving The Most High as they should because He’s good to all those who do His will. He’d never fail to answer those who are faithful to Him, those who have the commandments and do fulfil them all. The only thing that may prevent us from being blessed is a lack of love we might show towards The Lord, our God.

The Thessalonians had a peculiar trait of character which the apostle commented on with satisfaction: their love towards God was increasing in each one of them and to each other as well. It’s absolutely impossible for someone’s faith to grow and yet their love stays behind. If that’s happening to you now my advice is that you should look into yourself because God wouldn’t strengthen one side only to leave the other one weak.

Christians need to understand that the divine work is longing for the people of God to always progress in faith and love. We have a duty given to us by our Master and if we fail to perform it to perfection we’ll have huge problems on The Great Day. Undoubtedly, there’ll be those who will be accountable for the doom of so many others.

We’ll only be well-successful in the challenges to be faced in the near future or much later on if we’re well developed in the faith and in the love of our Father. Undoubtedly, pressure from hell will be increased by the devil upon the servants of God and also upon others considering that he knows there’s little time left for him. Therefore, you ought to keep an eye out because your faith can increase a lot. It’s up to you!

In Christ, with love,
