So he answered and said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27

Who said this phrase is one of the Persons that compose the divine Trinity, so it is the purest truth. It is never enough to say that to love the Lord is to know His commandments and keep them (Jo. 14:21). Jesus does not consent at all with the attitudes of those who do not seek wholeheartedly what He wants from them. Thus, you must take what the Lord tells you really seriously. Otherwise, you will not be loved by Him.

He who does not love the Father with all his heart, not fulfilling the first commandment, does not enjoy of divine protection and the right of invoking His name against the forces of evil. If he insists in reprehending the enemy with the only weapon that he obeys – the name of the Lord – he will have no success. But he who strives to fulfill the commandments with all of his heart will always have divine love besides him.

Loving God must also be with all your soul, with all your feelings. There is no point in trying to do what He orders if you would like to do something else. Avoiding sin only to avoid Hell is not a commandment. The Word of God prohibits us to sin (Ps 4:4; 1 Co 15:34; Ep 4.26), and therefore, we should avoid falling in transgression. Whoever has not consummated sin physically, but has sin present on his mind, sins in the same way as he who commits it.

Some people use all their forces to do what the Lord has told them. In fact, there are people that even desire that some things are not accomplished. Then, without any embarrassment, they say that they have done what they could. Now, if God orders us to do something, He has already provided the means for that to be done. However, if a person is not dedicated enough, and does not have much faith, it is evident that the work will not succeed.

As you do the work of the Lord, strive to do everything that was told you, whatever you felt that you should do. Do not let the enemy dominate your understanding, because if that happens, he may be able to touch your life. If you act according to biblical orientation, the work of God becomes easy to be done. But if you do not use all that was given to you, say goodbye to victory, for nothing will be accomplished.

Do not deal with your neighbor as someone far from you. If the Father has placed him in front of you, treat him as yourself, and remember that if you obey His commandments, divine power will operate in your favor. Fulfill the commandments with all of your heart, with all your soul, and all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself (Mt 22:29).

In Christ, with Love,
