David’s fear of God led him to make good decisions regarding God’s plans. David knew the wickedness that was in Saul’s heart since the days when he was asked to play the harp, so he depended on the Lord. Those who depend on the Lord don’t need anyone else’s advice. Afterall, the Almighty One says nothing but the truth. Whatever man says, although it might sound great, doesn’t come close to the declarations of the Most High. He is God!
The only reason the king didn’t kill David after trying several times is because heaven was protecting that young man. Confidence grows when we receive deliverance from the Lord, and fear grows as well. Therefore, overcome the threatening situations and the evil things that arise against your body, soul and spirit, as well as against your family. By doing that, your heart will grow in confidence. God is your friend!
The future king became aware that Saul was planning to fight against him around Keilah. That’s why he asked Abiathar, the priest, to send him the priestly stole. He knew God wouldn’t leave him without clear guidance. He opened himself to the Almighty and soon received the necessary response. To call out without expecting an answer is the same as doing nothing. When we pray, we should be convinced that the Father will answer.
David, who had experienced deliverance from a lion and a bear, asked for guidance on how to proceed because he didn’t want to fight the Lord’s anointed one. This blood could never fall in his hands. Be careful with what you say about those who’ve received anointing from on high to minister the Word! They are special to God, who will avenge them from any lies!
David’s attitude serves as an example to us. Even if we suffer threats, we shouldn’t be desperate. God is with us in good and bad moments: For thus says the High and Lofty One, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones (Isaiah 57:15).
In any unusual situation, we should always look for peace and seek the direction of the Holy Spirit, which will be of great help so we won’t be affected by pestilence or destruction (Psalm 91:6). Saul’s plans were like beautiful sandcastles, the ones children make at the beach. They last only until the next wave comes. Whatever isn’t edified upon the rock, the eternal Word of God, will fall apart.
Remind yourself that you are God’s priest; clean your “ephod” from any sins you have committed and, with sincerity, ask for divine guidance and read the Bible with attention. Without a doubt, the Lord will speak to your heart. With the Father’s promises in your possession, no uncircumcised man can mock you, because your protector is the Almighty One!
In Christ, with love,

Lord that answers us! Your way of guiding us is a lesson to the following problems we will have to solve. We must strengthen our faith and walk without being scared of any kind of noise from the enemy. You will always protect us!
When David found that Saul was plotting against him, he told the priest: “Bring me the ephod.” Then, with the authority of someone who was fulfilling a divine mission, he asked God what was about to happen. By listening to God’s response, he avoided having to face danger.
Those who trust in You, Father, should be firm in their faith just as mount Zion, which symbolizes the Church. They can’t be shaken when the evil one comes against them. You know what You’re doing, and therefore we will never be shaken. Transform probability in reality!
