For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake. 1 Thessalonians 1.5

Those who are born again are obliged to undertake God’s work, spreading the Gospel to the lost. This work should not be done carelessly, but according to the Biblical pattern. If you are under the direction of the Lord, the lost will feel that the message you say is real, coming from the Most High. Thus, once he understands that the message is powerful, he will desire it with all of his heart. The success of a Christian depends on the power that he uses.

The evangelization based on arguments should be avoided – we must only preach the Word, which speaks by itself. When we tell what happened so that we believed in Jesus, we can lead many to tears. However, it does not mean that God has startled such an emotion. Unless you feel from Him that you must share your experiences, do not ever say about them. The best testimony is to take the message that the Most High has ordered you to announce.

What makes a person become converted is not related exactly to what we say, but to what the Holy Spirit speaks to this person’s heart while we preach. We must not try to impress with logical arguments, for the message of the Gospel is unique and complete at the same time. Besides this knowledge of the Scriptures, what everyone must hear and see is the divine power in action, healing, freeing, and transforming lives.

Pay attention to the detail that the work must be done through the Holy Spirit, and under His direction. We cannot take profane fire to the altar, as did Nadab and Abihu, unless we desire to die as well (Lv 10.1). The fact is that those who are used by the Lord have more success than those who use of schemes to convert someone. Jesus said that what is born of the flesh is flesh, and the flesh profits nothing (Jo 3.6; 6.63).

The evangelization must be undertaken with clarity and fear, since if it is done in any other way, there will be no divine operation. The Most High does not operate where there is something mystical, arguments from the human wisdom, cunningness or any other schemes. Both the message and our example must be close to perfection. Thus, the best we can do for our neighbor is to deliver the message that the Lord has given us.

The work must be made with seriousness, only through the use of sound doctrine – what the Bible declares. If it is not in such a way, we will not reach the lost. It is necessary to understand that we do not have to change the Biblical model. If we are living in communion with our Lord, our success will be evident, as it was with those who served God in the biblical days. 

Your aim is to reach for the lost. Therefore, do not take heed of any verbal or even physical aggression, for the devil may use someone to drive you out of the divine plan. Always give to the thirsty a word of encouragement and spend time in prayer for those that the Almighty put in your way. Understand: your mission is to make the love of God be understood and accepted.
