“Judgments are prepared for scoffers, and beatings for the backs of fools.” (Proverbs 19:29)

Everything God does is tested beforehand. He created the Heavens and the Earth and He saw that everything He had done was good (Genesis 1:31); none of His creations was faulty. Like everything that comes from the Lord, His very Word is also tested before being delivered to men and He gives a warning to the scoffers – those who pay no heed to His statements – that His judgments are prepared. As for the foolish, He says that beatings are also prepared for their backs. All of His decisions will always be put into practice, so those who are sensible must mend their ways and do what’s right.

Nothing is more foolish than someone who mocks the Lord who created all things out of nothing with His power and who has all the capacity to do whatever He wishes. How is it possible not to fear the Most High and serve Him? Only those who’ve been deceived by the enemy can think that everything in this planet came up as if by enchantment or magic. Of course there’s a special Being who planned all things and put His project into practice – this Being is our God who reveals Himself through the Scriptures where He teaches us what to do to preserve His creation and to prepare for when the divine plan is completed.

Adam’s insane attitude of disobeying our Creator brought the devil to us, that angel who fell for having wished to be like God, for which reason he was expelled from the Heavenly regions and sent to Earth. Satan entered the world through sin to cause all the mess we see everywhere. Yet, the purpose of the Most High can’t be hindered! There’ll come a day when He’ll put an end to this evil spree, so those who mock Him will realize how mistaken and foolish they have been.

All judgments the Almighty has already determined will be executed and the suffering reserved for the insane will be exceedingly great. And there’ll be no second chance! That’s the worst thing. The convicted will experience the toughest punishment from God. In His anger, the Almighty has actually prepared the judgments against those who’ve gone against Him – along with the devil and his angels, they’ll be thrown in the lake which will burn with fire and brimstone for eternity (Revelation 20:10-15). So, why not make amends and serve God all of you who aren’t serving Him now?

There’s a group of people who let the spirit of nonsense possess them. Some of them can even be found among those who serve God; yet, they wrongly think that on the Great Day the Lord will close His eyes to their insane attitudes: they say they tell the truth, yet they lie; they confess their holiness, yet they commit adultery; they say they belong to God, yet they obey the impulses of the devil and give in to the desires of flesh, besides other sins. Well, they’ll end up being punished eternally with merciless beatings on their backs!

My brethren, don’t you think you need to make amends with our Father? Examine yourself!

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
