04/09/2023 - I WILL NOT LISTEN TO THEM

Therefore thus says the LORD: “Behold, I will surely bring calamity on them which they will not be able to escape; and though they cry out to Me, I will not listen to them. Jeremiah 11.11

The deviations of the authorities and the people of Judah made the Lord take the position of not listening to them, allowing evils to afflict them. It was a sad day when the beloved God had to turn His back on them, because their rebellion was great. They left Him and gave way to the enemy. With this, unfortunately, they paid a high price. When a Christian consciously sins, his life is filled with evil (Hebrews 10.26,27)!

What happened to Israel in the past happens to us today. If we rebel, God may take a similar attitude, even if we are His children. We are people who do not look back, but constantly remember how good it was to walk with the Lord. After all, living God’s will frees us from mistakes and is tremendously good. By sinning, we open ourselves up to the enemy, who will not miss opportunities to torment and afflict us (Ephesians 4.27). We cannot live away from the Blesser!

Evil was allowed to break out against the Israelites, so that they would recognize their dishonorable practices. The saved enjoy an enviable position, because they live free from problems and when something is not right, they pray and soon receive the answer (Philippians 4.19). Why despise the Good Fountain and march toward the chamber of pain, filth, and trouble? Turn to the Almighty!

Even faithful Christians can surprise everyone by facing temptations. When they fall, they will bring scandal to the divine work. The secret to victory is: never give in to the evil one. Whoever approaches sin and examines it will be tempted to enter the path of error. Should this occur, he will separate himself from the Most High. The person who plays with fire will inevitably realize that he has taken a bad step (Hebrews 10.26-31). Those who love God know how to act when faced with the devil’s proposal: resist him.

The tempter himself approaches us with his wiles. There is always a careless one who will pay attention to them and discover the enemy’s goal: to get involved with him, to let sadness invade his heart and the filthy stain take over his conscience. Why did Judah experiment worshiping Baal and other demons? Why do you let thoughts of betrayal dominate you? Stay alert and pray!

We have only one honor. If we lose it, we will see who was behind the filthy things. Letting your mind check the suggestion of the enemy is already giving in to him. For this not to happen anymore, follow the biblical advice: Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4.7). Be strong and never accept anything from hell. Then your heart will continue to love the Lord, who died for you – and yourself.

The punishment of those who have eaten the evil bread will be too harsh – eternal damnation – if they do not repent and return to the Father (Hebrews 12.5-8). There is still time to cry out to God and be delivered by confessing your errors and standing firm in your faith in Christ. Consecrate yourself to the Lord, then He will soon forgive you and use you for His glory alone!

In Christ, with love,

God, we cry out for freedom! We plead for Your help, because we don't want to face the same problems as the people of Judah, when they saw their land invaded by the destroyers coming from Babylon. The lamentation of the faithful was great, and the sinners wept!

To know that You will not hear us anymore is sad news. May this never happen to us! Help us, give us Your forgiveness for the sins we committed, and lift us up again. Mercy!

Thank You for teaching us the way back. Then, we will love You and live by Your side. We cannot leave You, nor do we want You to leave us even for a second. Your presence in our soul fills us with joy. Forgive us, Father!
