Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. Romans 12.16

When Jesus went back to heaven, he sent us another Comforter, who came to stay on our side and do the same things the Teacher used to do. The Comforter is the Holy Spirit, who came to glorify our Savior and complete the assignment that the Father had given him. The Holy Spirit is the one who guides the Church of Jesus. One of his missions is to teach us and guide us into all truth (John 16.13).

Once the work of salvation is completed, the Holy Spirit gives us four pieces of advice in the verse above, that we may be successful in our walk of faith. It is important that you understand each of them, meditate on their meaning, and put them into practice. If you do that, you will see that you will lack nothing. They are common to all those who are saved. Every person who wants to be a winner at the end of the race and receive the crown of life must strive to put these four pieces of advice into practice, because this will please the Most High.

God’s revelations are clear, for God is not the author of confusion (1Corinthians 14.33a). There is confusion only when the doctrine was made up by men, since each person is different. But because this is the Lord’s revelation, we must unanimously believe in that which has been revealed to us. Never be a dissenting voice in the congregation, because the Most High knows how to announce his will to all. The presence of strife indicates that the enemy is acting out in our midst (Philippians 2.3).

There is great danger lying in wait for those who are saved: covetousness for high things. Some people fall into error because they want to imitate those who do not know Jesus and stand out from others in a given area. Well, just because one person is a good singer it does not mean that another has to be as good as or better than him. If a person has opened a restaurant and the business was successful, it does not mean that you should do the same. You must seek guidance from the Lord, and then you will find out something new and will be blessed.

The thing we must do is to associate with the humble. If the Most High is with you, your victory will be certain; there will be no sorrow. God may even place in your heart desire for high things, but in this case keep following his instructions. The problem is when you do not follow his guidance. Those who fail to obey the Lord face a lot of trouble. Only the blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and he adds no sorrow with it (Proverbs 10.22).

Never compete with your brothers and sisters about who is wiser or more blessed. The truth is that a person who has received more from God must serve the others, for everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required (Luke 12.48). If your wisdom came from God, whatever the Father had in mind when he gave you such gift will certainly bear fruit. Never wish to be something God has not ordained for you.

Follow everything that the Comforter says. He teaches us, through his Word, what in heaven has been decided concerning us. So, in accordance with what has been declared, you will succeed in fulfilling God’s will. Be faithful to your mission, because one day you will render accounts of everything that has been given to you. Be approved with praise!

In Christ, with love,

Dear God, thank you so much for sending us another Comforter! Today we know that he helps in our weaknesses, making intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. This way, we are delivered from many traps set up by the enemy.

May these four pieces of advice be put into practice by all your children, Lord. We must be of the same mind toward one another, never setting our mind on high things or being wise in our own opinion, but instead associating with the humble. May such principles always guide us during our time in this world.

We know that the Holy Spirit will reveal to us whatever has been said concerning us, always guiding us in our actions, so that we may carry out the great works that you have appointed to us. We want to thank you, Father, for your kindness, because at the same time that you give us blessings, you also teach us how to receive and live them.
