There is time for everything, to be born and to die. Whoever does not know how to use it, wasting it, will regret it. Living away from the Most High, from obedience to His commandments, will cause surprise on the Day of Accountability. Then, you will see that your period of life is over, and the period of death has arrived. We reap the result of the seeds we sow. And if we have not sown good seeds, our harvest will be one of sorrow (Galatians 6:7,8).
Just as the old age overtook Solomon, it will overtake us. When it does, what will we present? Those who have stopped cultivating the good seed of the Gospel will show a dissolute and lost life. Why didn’t they use what God gave them daily through the messages coming from Him? The woes are for those who have lived in the “splendor” of ignorance, and not in the Truth.
Solomon, the wisest man in the world, could have been the greatest servant, capable of making people rejoice with the divine works. However, he wanted to be known as the man who had and loved many women, who perverted his heart. In addition, he followed other gods. Why exchange good for evil? If you act in this way, in the end, you will also choose broken cisterns – which do not hold water – instead of preferring the Fountain of living waters (Jeremiah 2:13). Be vigilant!
Do not follow other gods. They are lying demons, who are fighting to cast you into Hell (1 Corinthians 10:19,20). From your actions, you will determine what you will have, be and present at the Day of Judgment. Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near, when you say, ‘I have no pleasure in them’ (Ecclesiastes 12:1). Incredible! These words came out of the pen of the king himself, when his heart had not yet been perverted. Beware! The enemy wants to do to you what he did to Solomon!
Strive each day for your heart to be perfect toward the One who is perfect. The Lord declared that this must be done: “Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father who is in heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:48). Jesus is the Model to be followed, and for our own good, He will help us to be like Him. So, repent of the sins you have allowed into your heart, and of the sins you have committed. God will help you do it!
If you listen to the Lord, you will live in perfection, because you have been called for that and you have already experienced His goodness in salvation (Isaiah 1:19). It is definitely not worth living in error, for one day you will appear before the righteous Judge to answer for your actions and for what you failed to do in the life He allowed you to enjoy. Do not imitate the evil individuals, and do not fall into the devil’s “tale”, but be the one of whom it will be said: “This person did God’s will”.
You can be victorious in everything, following David’s example. Don’t be like Solomon, who took the detour when he should have continued on the road of goodness. He could have chosen to be like his father, the man after God’s own heart. What do you say?
In Christ, with love,

Oh Father! If You are the God of our youth, You are also the God of our old age. The choice is ours, but the power comes from You, and we cry out for it now. Never allow us to stray from Your ways. Then we will not experience the land of thorns!
We only want to love the spouse You have given us! Your guidance is that we love only the person we marry. Let this be true in us, as Your Word prescribes. We don't accept to live away from You, because we love You!
Our hearts need to be perfect towards You. For this to happen, we must know You in the beauty of Your holiness, the splendor of Your love, and the sweetness of Your voice. Give us the virtue to remain within Your will. We ask for mercy!
