Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.

II Thessalonians 3:5

Even when a man of God is used a lot by the Lord, he needs prayers. The devil knows that if he manages to turn that man away from the path, he will not only be able to destroy him but will take many people with him as well. So the best you can do for a servant of the Lord is to pray for him to have the right word every time he opens his mouth. Thus, he will fulfill his mission with praise because it will be spread and glorified.

Whoever does God’s work must be rid of evil men. The individual who puts an obstacle to a servant of God is worse than the one that leaves a blind man fall into a hole, for example, because those who minister the Word should be taken into greater consideration. Jesus’ warning to those who cause one of the little ones who believe in the Lord to stumble is too serious (Mark 9:42). Therefore, do not let the enemy use you to make someone fall into transgression.

Not everybody who rises up to attack a servant of the Lord can accomplish such a feat. The Almighty is faithful to confirm His people and save them from evil (Psalm 41:11). However, many have been used to lead the anointed of the Lord to the gates of sin, despair and death. If there is someone who the lost should stay away from in order not to cause any harm, it´s the servant of God, because the judgment will be exceedingly harsh for them.

This admonishment is meant for all those who have done everything to entice the Lord’s servants. Those who have sold themselves to the devil in order to put a stumbling block before the saved ones are likened to the covetous prophet Balaam, who sold himself to Balak, king of the Moabites, to teach the enemies of God’s people how to put a stumbling block before the holy people. He had his reward (Joshua 13:22, II Peter 2:15), which shows that sinning does not pay off.

The secret of being on the right track is to do what the Lord has told you. Those who turn away from the Word fall into transgression and suffering. Why let the spirit of error guide you if the Holy Spirit is the best guide we have? The mission of the Comforter is to guide us into all truth. So never give ear to the enemy, because he wants you to suffer. Now, you have been called by God to share His eternal glory (I Peter 5:10)!

The Holy Spirit is the One who can lead your heart to God’s love and then you will have everything you need to live a life worthy of your calling. No matter the offer that the evil made to you, he is a liar, false and a loser in all things. By banding with him you have a lot to lose, but with the heavenly Father you will win all the fights here (Joshua 23:10) and eventually you will have the right to enter and possess the kingdom which is prepared for us from the foundation of the world (Matthew 25:34).
