Some people insist that “the voice of the people is the voice of God,” but this is far from the truth. The Lord makes Himself heard in the revelation of the Word and in the hearts of those who obey Him. To judge anything, and especially to refer to the date when the House of the Lord should be built, is for those who walk in His presence and receive the clear and precise revelation from Heaven. We will give an account for every idle word we speak (Matthew 12:36).
Only the Most High knows the times and seasons that He has established by His own power. The disciples, in a somewhat impolite way, tried to find out from Jesus the time when the kingdom would be restored to Israel. The Master replied, It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority (Acts 1:7). Leave the giving of revelations to the Lord. Stay only with what He speaks!
Many times, dear and well-meaning family members hinder us with their gestures of love and friendship, telling us how we should act. Now, those who live by faith seek to know God’s will and have to wait until He reveals His plan to them. However, these relatives of ours often tell us that certain things should be according to their way. Beware of useless advices!
It was revealed to the prophet Haggai that the people were going entering a dangerous path. By saying that the time for building the House of the Lord had not yet come, these people were in danger of hindering the building of the temple. And whose fault would it be? When we don’t have God’s definition on how to proceed, we must cry out; after all, without help from on High, we will stumble. Only He can reveal to us the time and the way (Ecclesiastes 8:5,6).
The years of exile were ending and thousands had returned to Israel, but many had not kept fellowship with the Lord. Therefore, they did not know what to say about the work. Of those who went into captivity, the majority had died, and those who were young when they left for Babylon returned well advanced in age. Haggai, from what we read in chapter 2, verse 3, was considered a centenarian. Only affirm something if God reveals it to you!
Be moderate, letting the Holy Spirit teach you about everything, so that you don’t say something outside the divine purpose. Who were they to have an opinion about such a huge subject? Let the Most High direct His work, while we dedicate ourselves to live in His presence. Without Him we are nothing, but with His help we can do all things (John 15:5). What do you say?
When we follow Heaven’s direction, we have the possibility of speaking what is 100% right. However, if we do not live before the Lord, the probability of getting it wrong is great. With fear and trembling, His blessed will is done, that He may be magnified in ALL of our lives. God is our true Friend! Do you believe?
In Christ, with love,

God, our good Master! We have to recognize that we walk without feeling Your touches. Therefore, we can never venture to give directions to anyone. But in Christ we will have the Word prepared by You, which will help the lost so much!
Even as Your children, we can only claim that something comes from You, if we have heard Your voice authorize us to make such a statement. We beg that only the true solution will come out of our mouths for those who are without guidance!
May we walk in communion with You, giving priority to Your guidance! From Your mouth comes only good things for us and for others. We long for Your covering of power over us. We will be in prayer, standing firm in the Word. Amen!
