26/10/2010 - IS IT NECESSARY TO CRY OUT FOR HELP?

O LORD my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me. (Psalm 30:2)

Apparently, it is important to call upon God to receive healing. In fact, the Scriptures speak of many servants of the Lord who cried out to Him. The Lord Jesus himself offered the Father an outcry with tears and received an answer.

In the passage we read above, the psalmist declares that he cried out and was healed. Today, however, after Christ’s sacrifice on Calvary, he who holds fast to his position of son and daughter of the Most High and has fellowship with Him does not need to cry out to be free of any disease.

My brethren, it is not wrong to cry out to God. On the contrary, there are many situations in which this attitude is the quickest way for man to receive an answer. However, when it comes to any blessing clearly revealed in the Word – as, for example, healing and prosperity, among others – there\’s no point crying. We only need to exercise our right and the divine power will do the work!

It is good to be in communion with the Almighty because in the face of temptation all we need to do is to use our authority in the Name of Jesus and rebuke all evil. He who is in peace with the Lord knows exactly where to tread, is able to escape from any problems and always receives answers from the heavens. On the other hand, those who do not straighten up but are always dominated by carnal passions are like a boat adrift which can be carried by the stream and hit a stone or get entangled in the vegetation at the bank of a river. He might navigate without major problems but the risk of falling into a waterfall and getting shattered into pieces is very high.

Having the Lord’s Word as a guide is the decision everyone needs to make because in doing so they will observe what is written in it, heed its counsel and fulfill the divine commandments. As a result, fear or any other sinful feeling that overpowered them will no longer reign over their lives and they will not serve the evil one and neither will they yield to any sinful impulse.

We do not need to cry out for healing because it has already been bought and granted to us. Isaiah, Matthew and Peter spoke of it (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17; I Peter 2:24). My brethren, our infirmities were borne by the Lord Jesus so that you and I did not have to suffer because of them. So if we have already been healed, why would we have to cry out for Him to fulfill what has already been done?

Well, every revelation constitutes a commandment. We must fulfill what is revealed to us, demanding our rights, sending away all disease with all their symptoms and taking possession of our blessing.

Moreover, the psalmist was acting as a prophet when he declared that he had beseeched the Lord and that He had healed him. The author of this Psalm spoke not only of himself but also of mankind which due to Adam\’s sin would have to suffer the attacks of the devil. This outcry against suffering was heard and answered by our God. Therefore, He does not have to do anything else about our healing; after all, He has already healed us through the stripes of Jesus.

In Christ with love,
