02/04/2021 - IT IS BETTER TO OBEY GOD

He who says to the wicked, “You are righteous,” him the people will curse; nations will abhor him. But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will come upon them. Proverbs 24:24,25

It is common for some people to join those who are unrespectful, and with cynicism, affirm what they do is correct. The Lord doesn’t agree with such posture. On the contrary, He orients us to not walk according to the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful (Psalm 1:1).

Never say to the wicked they are righteous and don’t make compliments to them. However, if they act correctly, praise them and then exhort them to only do good. Those who stand against you for giving such advice won’t be offended if you stand firm in this word. To call someone who doesn’t love God righteous is to give the enemy a prize for that soul being lost. Our mission is to save them.

Don’t be a guarantor of the wicked, because since they serve the devil, you will have trouble and be mocked whenever you deal with them. Be wise and say no when that’s the right answer. When the lost come in search of help, help them! This is how the Bible puts it: you will heap coals of fire in your enemy’s head (Proverbs 25:21,22). Our goal is to rescue them from darkness and lead them to the wonderful light of Jesus, the Savior (1 Peter 2:9). Follow the Word!

All throughout history, we’ve seen the wicked taking power and lead people to destruction. Nothing better than having righteous people governing, respecting public administration and proceeding ethically. The righteous can’t affirm someone is correct unless they know them very well and know they walk in a blameless manner. God is just!

If you should reprimand a wicked person, do it regardless if they’ll come back against you. Don’t listen to the enemy. We are servants of the Most High, but, if we fail our mission of speaking the truth, the Lord will be disappointed at us. Therefore, give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s (Matthew 15:21b). The saved should walk in righteousness!

The blessings are reserved to those who follow the orders of the Most High. Regardless if you’re being accused by insistent sinners, you will be rewarded by the one and only God. A little bit of wisdom is very helpful in adversities. Those who fear the Creator don’t answer everything that is asked, but look for reasons why people are asking them questions. That’s how our Master proceeded with the Pharisees.

Fight to always give your best to the Almighty God and not be used by the devil. That way, no defeat will affect you. If you’ll reprimand the wicked, do it under the Most High’s instructions. Honor the Lord always!

In Christ, with love,

Dr. Soares

Lord of our Word! We don’t seek to justify the wicked, but to recognize what they do right, when they do so. Help us to walk in righteousness without touching the glory that belongs to You alone.

We don’t want to be cursed by the people because we justified the attitudes of the wicked. We are Your servants, and that’s enough. In You, we can fight against sin and overcome it. You are amazing with Your people!

If You lead us to reprimand the wicked, may we do it under Your guidance, because we are blessed when we have Your joy. May we honor You in everything. Thank You, Father, for Your precious and infallible help!
