Then Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice and wept. Genesis 29.11

When he saw the shepherd´s explanation, who supposedly were young, Jacob was sure that this was his chance to show why he was in that place. While talking to them, he saw Rachel coming and felt that God was there too. So, he was moved, rolled the well´s stone and gave water to her sheep. Jacob felt the confirmation of the plan being unfolded before his eyes. The same happens to anyone who concludes that God loves him. Amen!

Everything happened quickly. Face to face with Laban’s daughter, he understood why he had been sent to the home of his mother’s family. Rachel must also have been moved by the one who spoke to the shepherds and helped her quench the thirst of her flock. What God shows us always has His confirmation. This way, we know if it comes from Heaven. It is not easy to hold back our emotions when we see how good the Lord is!

With Rachel’s arrival, Jacob stopped talking and the shepherds simply didn´t understand. Seeing the blessing within reach of his hands, he simply found strength within himself that he didn’t know. The same happens with those who follow the Lord – but beware! The Most High speaks or acts in such a way that nothing clashes with the Scriptures. If there is a contradiction, it is not the work of God, but of the evil one. Be vigilant!

On the other hand, Rachel must have been awestruck. If she was not mistaken, the man before her was the one she had been waiting for all her life, not knowing where to find him. Being a divine work, the two parties feel peace, respect and holiness from one to the other. Jacob was not content to do something for his uncle’s daughter’s animals. He wanted to show that he was a good man and a member of her family, her cousin. The Lord is wonderful!

It was too much for him! Isaac’s son stood before his mother’s niece: the person he felt God had set apart to be his wife. His feeling was true and confirmed the events up to that moment. The blessing was greater than he imagined. To be an ancestor of the Lord and of the family he would form, it was necessary to have at his side someone who respected him and was the chosen one of the Father!

The two of them looked at each other, and no words. Then, respectfully he kissed her, lifted up his voice and cried. It was his act of thankfulness for God was in what was emerging between them. You can’t hold yourself when you see the divine hand leading you in such a clear way. The Lord is our Friend and if we let Him – He will guide us in all matters. However, if the flesh comes into operation – you can forget it – because what you felt, did not come from Heaven.

It proves that we don’t have to worry about tomorrow. Even if we don’t see the way out of a problem, if God has allowed us to go through it, He knows how to give us the victory. Follow the direction that Joshua gave to the people of Israel: And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” (Joshua 3.5). Get ready for the Father to use you!
