Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Revelation 3:20

This statement was made to a church which, unfortunately, will exist within a few years from now. With prosperity, many people focus on the easy life, oblivious of what is most important in the Gospel. The righteousness of God is barely mentioned in the pulpits, and holiness has been reduced to friendliness, joy and good manners. But the fact is that no one will please God if they do not truly sanctify themselves.

This church is already present in many places. It’s like a rehearsal of what is yet to come, when love will grow cold in people’s hearts and they will get carried away by a variety of deceptive doctrines (Matthew 24:11-12). In this letter to the church at Laodicea, the Lord says that He is about to vomit those who, despite being members of His Body, are lukewarm – neither cold nor hot. If this is your case, be careful as He may dispose of you at any time.

Jesus made Himself known as the faithful and true Witness. He sees both what you do with the power He gave you and the contempt with which some regard His Word. When He warns someone on a particular matter, the responsibility belongs to the one who has been warned. Definitely, those who love the world and what is in it cannot please the Lord.

This letter was written to a church that professed to belong to the Lord, but after it became rich, it deemed itself capable of anything except changing the behavior of its people. Jesus counseled those people to buy from Him gold refined in the fire, which is free and enriching. He also told them to buy white garments, with which they may be clothed, that the shame of their nakedness may not be revealed; He has the eye drops that enables their eyes to see.

Every Christian must be zealous enough to ask the Lord to rebuke them and teach them to walk on the good path. The order is for us to repent. In so doing, He will deliver us from this deceiving spirit that makes people feel they are “spiritual” for the material assets they own, which actually have no value. Only the wealth of the Spirit of God must be sought.

The Lord is knocking at the door of His people’s hearts. As soon as it is opened, the Lord will come in and then He will dine with you. It is up to each person to open up to him; otherwise, what is left is a cold, powerless religion. God wants you well nourished, so that you have strength and capacity to achieve victory in all things.

The important thing is to win! And the secret to this lies in the previous verses. There is no chance of losing if your life is grounded on the Word of the Lord. There is a place in God’s throne waiting to be occupied by those who win. Undoubtedly, He did not plan for you or any of His children to be defeated.
