30/10/2010 - LAY ALL THINGS BEFORE THE LORD

Lord, all my desire is before You; and my sighing is not hidden from You. (Psalm 38:9)

Many people, not knowing who our God is, hide their desires and their transgressions from Him. This is a mistake, because the Lord is omniscient, which means that absolutely nothing can be hidden from Him. For example, He can see even the tiniest leaf of a tree in the Amazon rainforest. He records all things, from its beginning to its end (Hebrews 4:13), because there is nothing hidden to our God.

My brothers and sisters, when your thought has not even been formed in your mind, the Lord already knows it (Psalm 139:1-4). So if you have wrong and forbidden desires, the Almighty knows them all. The best thing to do is to pray and confess everything. Nothing wrong should be admitted in your mind since it will prevent your prayers from being received. If you are being tempted, do not hide it from Him, pray and confess your sin. Tell Him about the pleasure you feel but that you want deliverance because you know it is wrong.

When we are sincere with the Lord we score points, but when we do not speak the truth, we miss out much (Proverbs 28:13), after all, the Father does not want His children to act like hypocrites. Knowing this, the devil will do everything to minimize your wrongdoing, saying that everybody does the same, that nowadays it is normal and that those who do not do it are old-fashioned people.

Nobody should let themselves be influenced by the lies of the enemy (I Corinthians 6:9-11). Try to remember if you felt fine the first time you sinned and if your fellowship with the Lord continued to exist. Well, the Holy Spirit tells us if a practice is sinful or not, and the absence of peace in our hearts is a reminder that we are being led astray from the Way. So the best thing to do is to come back on track and make amends with the Most High.

Lay your wishes before God. You do it through prayer, but mainly by comparing your actions with what the Word teaches. If it is approved, it means your desire is lawful, and you can put it before the Lord. But if the Word disapproves it, you should not even try to pray about it, except to apologize for allowing this desire into your heart. There is nothing lawful that the Bible condemns and nothing condemned that the Scriptures approve.

The Word of God is our rule of life. We please God by obeying it but when we disobey Him, we place ourselves outside of God\’s presence. Then you must cry out to the Father because although He knows what goes into your soul, He wants you to speak it up. If you obey the Lord, you will be rewarded.

    In Christ with love,
