“…and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.”

Someone once said that the Lord could have called His angels to do His work, but He chose to use us for such service. That our call is a great privilege is out of discussion, but I think the angels could not fulfill this task because they belong to the spiritual world and only sheep beget sheep. For me, only he who is born of woman is able to do God’s work on earth. For this reason, the Son of God had to come in the flesh and be one of our own (John 1:14a).
It is yet to be revealed the virtue we will achieve for being partners of the Lord in His mission to save mankind. Only in Heavens will we know the reason for so much love. And even though we will be with the Lord throughout eternity, we will not have another opportunity to save lives. Therefore, as time goes by so very fast, we should not even think of wasting it with other tasks; instead, we should hear our calling and make it our first choice. So pay the price required to fulfill what God commanded you to do for His Kingdom. Having put your hand to the plow, do not look back (Luke 9:62).
It is necessary to leave everything for the love of God and His work. Nothing can make up for the loss we will suffer if we rebel against what proceeds out of the Lord’s mouth concerning ourselves. Frustrating the Almighty is probably the most foolish act that anyone can commit. The Word of God, by the way, declares that anyone who does not leave father, mother, husband, wife, children, career, and everything else for the love of Christ and the Gospel is not worthy of Him (Matthew 10:37).
Besides abandoning everything, it is imperative that we follow the Lord, doing the same things He does, learning what He says about how we should conduct ourselves and putting His teachings into practice. We cannot sit back and think that in the end everything will be alright. The apostle Paul said: “Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel” (I Corinthians 9:16)! Over me also weighs the calling of the Lord, who chose me to do His
work, which is of the utmost importance. Moreover, it is very enjoyable to do His will.
My brother, if you have been summoned to do His work, accept this holy invitation immediately, because stalling for time will cause you to end up delivering part of your life to the enemy. The chosen ones must be prepared and available to God. One day, He will show them why He loved them so much and commissioned them as His workers.
He who excuses himself by saying he needs to buy a new house, or a car or that they need to get married first will have a lot to regret but then it will be too late. On the other hand, those who are wise and win souls for Christ shall shine like stars forever.
