For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.
Titus 2:11-12
The Lord Jesus brought grace and truth to mankind. This moving of God over us completely changes the lives of those who accept the Gospel. As we receive Jesus as our Lord, we start to enjoy salvation. However, the work does not end with this beautiful act, for the grace of the Father teaches us a lot about what He wants us to do, to avoid or to rid of our lives.
We Christians must set good examples of all things. Our works should speak louder than our words. We must be “straight A” workers in every aspect of Christ’s doctrine and our actions should never be an embarrassment to the Lord, after all we have been saved to do His work in season and out of season (II Timothy 4:2). Those who are taught by the divine Spirit through the Word set a standard that many will emulate.
We must never show signs of corruption. We had better lose something we are not sure where it comes from than accepting what the enemy offers. As to the things we know to be the will of the Lord, we must be firm, steadfast and sincere so that our behavior does not cause anybody to fall out. Our speech should be sound and irreproachable.
Our life should be led in such a way so as to glorify the Lord and put the enemy to shame. It is a disgrace when it is the other way around. Assuredly, we cannot give any foothold for the devil otherwise he will never obey our command. It is so nice to see God’s sons and daughters being examples of faith in their working place prompting their superiors to say how highly impressed they are at Christians.
The Lord’s servants must never cause damages to anyone; after all they serve Jesus, who is gentle and lowly in heart. God’s children have to be loyal so that they may adorn the doctrine of the Lord (Titus 2:10). Besides salvation, the divine grace also teaches us to renounce any disrespect to the Word and all unbridled desires. In so doing, we live in a manner that the Most High is always glorified.
Those who wish to please the Lord must wait for His coming at anytime and when that happens, they will be accepted in glory. Strive to live soberly, righteously and godly. This will do you a tremendous good, and the Gospel will be more gently accepted by the lost. May you never cause anyone to stumble! This is easy because Jesus gave Himself to redeem us from all unrighteousness.
