Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.

Galatians 6: 1

A quite cloudy scenario is to see brothers in Christ, who ought to be holy, being caught in their sinful acts. Why would someone swap the calmness of the divine presence through obedience for the filthy innuendoes of the devil? It is crystal clear that not even all the golden treasures of this world will ever be worth perennial doom. That is the reason why those who give themselves to sin are actually saying farewell to their glorious future.

Temptations always come, but it is up to us to prevent them to come in. Jesus, Our Example, was tempted in all things; yet, He never committed any sin (Hebrews 4:15). You will never be blamed for being tempted since the enemy is to blame instead. Yet, if you accept the devil’s innuendo and do what is prohibited by The Word you will clearly be held accountable for it. Therefore, whenever a temptation pops up you are to begin praying and ask The Lord to deliver you from it (Matthew 26: 41 a).

Christians need to become spiritual, more aware of the accountability that heavily weighs on their shoulders, and they must not give room to the devil for him to get into their lives. We are wrapped up by a fire wall and, for that reason, the enemy cannot get in. However, if we let ourselves be defeated by any temptation whatsoever, Satan will get through it and he will turn us into his prey. So, do all you can not to lose your stand in The Kingdom of God!

As for those who have fallen into sin we are to lead them in a spirit of gentleness and not expel them as though they were scoundrels. Actually, we have all been tempted and the mercy of The Lord is the reason why we have not fallen. On top of that, we have not been called to make judgements on those who cannot resist temptations, but yes, to guide them according to the blessed Word which may deliver them from the claws of the devil.

On account of that, you are to always look out for yourself since the same demon who caused someone else to fall will do all he can for you not to keep on being resistant to its devilish innuendo of having you become a judge or an avenging warrior. Considering that The Lord Himself does not make judgements on sinners, why ever on earth do men daringly think they are entitled to do that? Do not look forward to being what you were not made for by God; on the contrary, be a brother, a helper, a pacifier and an intercessor. The fallen ones need love, not condemnation.

Provided we do not turn our backs to the counselling in The Word of God we will avoid being tempted and, thus, we will not fall into condemnation. Apart from that, those who daringly do those things which they have not been called to will be in disagreement with the divine plan and they might end up being surrounded by all the trash of this world. And then one’s life will always be awfully troubled considering that if one is being disobedient to the divine commandment he or she, actually anyone, will end up being vulnerable to all sorts of hellish assaults.

Therefore, you must strive for God not to be grieved with your behavior and you must do all you can for Him to delight in you as you fulfil His commandments.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
