Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion who seek to destroy my life; let them be driven backward and brought to dishonor who wish me evil. Psalm 40.14

We have to make a separation between David’s enemies, which were carnal, and ours, which are the unclean spirits that tempt us. In fact, they have already been defeated by Jesus, when He dethroned Satan and the powers of darkness. There is no longer, nor will there be any need to defeat them, because this happened with the Lord’s victory on the cross and His proclamation in hell, during the three days He stayed in the regions of death (Colossians 2.14,15; 1 Peter 3.18,19). Christ is the Victorious One!

Now, we should no longer worry about the forces of the evil one, because we are part of the Kingdom of God. However, if we give in to sin, we will be separated from the Lord. Within Christian normality, we can live completely free from evil. However, we can never forget that all this is because of Jesus´s victory, Whom we must love – have the commandments and keep them. Then, we will automatically be loved by the Father and the Son (John 14.21)!

The battle over our life ceases the moment we accept Jesus as Savior. But those who don’t understand what the Scriptures say about this – teach that the devil can do with us whatever he wants. Look at what the apostle Paul said to the Ephesians: And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6). In Christ, we are authorities over the kingdom of evil!

We will never be separated from Christ, as long as we do not practice sin, but stand firm in the Word: For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3.3). This means that we do not belong to the world, but to the Kingdom of Heaven. Our life is hidden with Christ in God; so, there is nothing to fear. We are where Jesus is. Consecrate yourself!

Any demon sent to destroy you will never succeed. He will return to Hell empty-handed. So don’t let yourself be led astray by the lies and temptations sent by the devil. If you leave the Lord’s protection, you will face suffering and death. The Scriptures say: He who digs a pit will fall into it, and whoever breaks through a wall, will be bitten by a serpent (Ecclesiastes 10.8). Do not break through the wall of fire that protects you (Zechariah 2.5)!

Every unclean spirit that tempts the saved, in order to take them out of the divine presence and harm them, is already doomed to failure. Everything that the Most High has decreed will be fully fulfilled. The evil spirits will be confounded. Therefore, the Lord´s servants must stand at His feet. If anyone falls into temptation, he must confess his error in order to obtain forgiveness. If he does not repent, he will never be accepted by the Lord (1 John 1.9).

The saved are no small thing, but citizens of Heaven and fellow citizens with the saints: Now, therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of the household of God (Ephesians 2.19). Never exchange your eternal position of blessed, which is part of your life, as well as the right to use the Name of Jesus to rebuke evil. Live well!

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares

Father, God of our protection! Thank You for making us Your children, giving us authority over the enemy. We can live perfectly before You, without fearing the threats of Hell.

Never again will we be confused or embarrassed by the demons sent from Hell, trying to lead those who do not yet know You to fear. We thank You for keeping us under Your protection. This way, we will be victorious over all things.

It is good to see the demons confused about their mission to destroy us. There is no way You will allow anything bad to happen to us. Your love will accompany us until our last moment here on Earth, as well as throughout eternity!
