And for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel. Ephesians 6.19

After guiding the brethren of Ephesus to put on all the armour of God to resist the evil day, the Apostle Paul said that they should pray for all the saints. Then, he said that they should also intercede for him too. Those who are firm in the faith would help many people if they always prayed for them. Some are weak in the faith, others are sick, and many are under several kinds of temptations.

He wanted to open his mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel. If we do not have the right word, undoubtedly we will say worthless things, and no one will be fed. Now, why should we say what does not come from God if we must do the divine work? The truth is that, in some occasions, our basket is empty, so how will we feed the people? (Jo 6.9) All that minister the Word need the same blessing that Paul recognized that he needed.

How I wanted that all that were blessed by my ministry would pray for my life! Many times, the Lord puts before me people with very serious problems, and if I do not have His assistance, I may speak something in vain. If I do so, I will have lost an opportunity to help a needy person. It would be good if bold words would be given to me at any moment. As a Preacher of the Gospel, I must do as Jesus did.

When the Christian pronounces the word of faith, it has the same effect of the words pronounced by Jesus (Jo 14.12). If we make our determination with boldness, there will be no one who will be left empty in our presence. Now, if the Most High brings someone to us, it is so that we might help him to be freed from the power of hell. However, it is necessary to keep and practice the good Word of the Master. He always had the right words to give to whoever sought Him.

Paul understood that he needed to act by faith, and thus, he knew that it was by opening his mouth that the powerful word would be given to him. There is no need to meditate rationally about what we will speak. If we do so, the work that we will do will be only human. It is true that we must prepare ourselves, but we must never premeditate what we will say. For whenever we speak, the Holy Spirit will give us wisdom and the right word.

If I start preparing one of my sermons in the “intellectual laboratory”, I will treat the work of the Lord as if I were a scholar of the Scriptures. Those who proceed in such a way achieve nothing (2 Co 3.6). But the preachers that study the Bible and minister by faith see the Lord using them at every moment. Those who do the work in the Spirit will be successful.

We must not preach the rules of men, but make known the mystery of the Gospel. God knows the needs of the people that will seek for us, for He is the one who guides them unto us. Through divine orientation, we must give a solution to the problems that are sent our way.

Therefore, it is necessary to count with the assistance of the Almighty. The Lord will be with all that are faithful to Him.

In Christ, with love,

Lord of the harvest! We should not only ask You for workers but also that the word of faith is given to us as we open our mouths. This word is able to make the heart of the listener to be broken and poured in Your presence. We need it to happen to us always.

It would be good if all that enjoyed of my ministry prayed and begged for me, so that whenever I open my mouth I may be a prophet for all, used by God to rebuke, comfort, and build up. With Your help, I will be able to do more for the people.

We must make known the mystery of the Gospel. We cannot transform it into a group of creeds, doctrines and other purposes. Your people need to understand Your will to experiment how good and sweet it is to serve You in Spirit and in truth.
