The Lord preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy.

Psalm 145.20

Loving God is much more important than we understand. Those who love him are preserved in all their trials; after all, he is good and will always protect those who keep his commandments. On the other hand, the wicked are destroyed because of the things they have failed to do.

The most important discovery one person can make is to understand that loving God is very productive. It is important to teach everyone that loving God, in addition to being easy, is what everyone should do, because then we receive unlimited protection from him. Jesus explained that to love God is to have his commandments and keep them (John 14.21). When we do that, we allow the Lord to deliver us from all arrows from the evil one.

In eternity, those who love the Lord will receive a reward for keeping his commandments: they will be spared eternal suffering. But there are Christians that still do not know how much they are losing by not taking heed to what the Lord says.

God’s most accurate definition is that he is good (Jeremiah 33.11), but then why doesn´t he protect all mankind? Well, most people do not know that, once they stop loving God, his protection and works can no longer cover us. When you fail to keep a commandment of the Lord, you are being more than a rebel: you are opening the door for the devil to enter your life.

The wicked fail to give the Word of God its rightfully place in their hearts, and that is why they are stricken by the arrows of the devil. When the devil succeeds in destroying your life, there is only one person responsible for that: you. When we keep the Lord’s commandments, he is faithful to protect us like a shield.

Do not allow the devil to succeed in hurting you. Take some time to think if you are under attack. And seek God’s guidance to find out what it is that he wants you to do. Those who ask the Lord receive the teachings necessary to keep his commandments, both those revealed by the Scriptures, which are common to all, and those he has spoken directly to your heart.

Be careful not to hinder the protection of the God of love. Live far from the arrows launched by the evil one, because Satan cannot touch those who are guarded by the Word of God (1John 5.18). The devil will touch you only if you allow him to do so. So love the Lord always, and you will have the joy of having him as your guard.

In Christ, with love,
