The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Psalm 9:9-10
The Lord God is a Refuge for the oppressed, but many do not reach the point where they will be saved and delivered from their oppressions. That happens because they are not taught to use the Name of Jesus. Without this name it is not possible to enter into God’s presence or rebuke the enemy. For Christians, Jesus’ name should be the air that they breathe.
In times of trouble, Christians who suffer like the ungodly shall not be freed due to not using the Name of Jesus. If we do not exert the right of using that name, we will not even be able to believe in the Lord. Bear in mind that believing is more than mental assent. This is the secret that God’s children need to find out in order to be victorious in all areas.
As Christians, we have the responsibility to make known the power of Jesus’ name. As a result, the new generation of God’s children will learn how to do God’s work. By using that Name, we have access to the Father and we are empowered to order the devil and all his evils to get out of our life or the life of those who ask for our help. Furthermore, we are able to heal the sick and free the oppressed.
The verse we are studying is clear in stating that without knowing the name of the Lord, one cannot put their trust in the Most High. That’s why so many of God’s servants are not able to put their trust in Him. The lack of experience in using the name that is above all names does not enable people to trust the One who never denied any of His promises. Jesus made His name known to the disciples.
Be assured that God will not forsake you if you seek Him. However, if you do not seek Him wholeheartedly, you will not succeed in finding Him. Make the decision to find Him who is the Author of life, and then strive to heed the preaching of the Word. Take to reading the Bible carefully and learn to meet the requirements to find the Lord.
There is no other source that provides salvation or protection, but the heavenly Father. He never turned His back on those who sought Him. Through these verses, He teaches us to achieve His favor. So follow the instructions and then you will have Him by your side to help you at all times of need.
We get to recognize those who know the power of Jesus’ name by the way they react to the attacks of Hell: they are fearless, bold and, at the same time, they are submissive to the divine will. This is how the Lord wants to see you!
