Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O LORD; let Your loving kindness and Your truth continually preserve me. Psalm 40:11

We have been called out of darkness into the marvelous light of God (I Peter 2:9), but are we living what this call implies? Have we enjoyed the peace of Christ or lived like the other people? Has the Almighty supplied our needs or have we lived in shortage of everything? If the Lord has withheld His mercies from you, it is a sign that you have not made amends with Him. Actually, you are not in the position in which He can always bless you.

We need to keep an eye out because the LORD’s mercies, through which we are not consumed (Lamentations 3:22), can be cut short. The Word declares that He is merciful and kind at the same time, but from what David said in the verse above, the Lord may be unable to bestow His gracious acts upon us and, therefore, we will be in trouble. So, the best thing to do is to examine yourself and come to terms with the Father. 

We fail when we do not give attention to what He tells us to do. When our goals are prioritized over God’s goals, He cannot love us. But if we love Him He will love us too. If we despise Him, we will perish. Although people spend long hours in prayer and also ask others to pray for them and yet they do not keep the commandments or they even hide their sins, God’s holy hand will be unable to bless them.

Do not be fooled into thinking that the Lord understands your errors. The minute you sinned and did not repent the door was closed to you. As a result, the enemy has destroyed you in every way. Dreams die, prayers become mere murmuring recitals, faith becomes powerless and the demons do not obey you. There is only one way to not let yourself be enslaved by the devil: turning to God and begging for His favor.

God loves those who love Him and He is happy to give them happiness. He will do what He has promised when you summon the courage to abandon your sins and confess what you have hidden in your heart. In so doing, your healing will come, joy will return to your heart, and the doors will be opened to you. Get rid of the power the devil has over your life and confess your sins to the Almighty. Only then you will be received as a child.

There is no better time to get it right with the Lord than now. Your sin is stamped on your face. No matter where you turn to, the devil knows you are his. Only by confessing your iniquities, pleading for mercy and making amends with whom you caused any moral, financial or any other kind of harm will you attain the Lord’s mercy. Do this now, because it is the Lord who is giving you this opportunity.
