That was the Lord’s definition of David. And it was a praise, for God Himself declares Himself to be a Man of War: The LORD is a man of war; the LORD is His name (Exodus 15:3). To have Him by your side is a certainty of victory in all battles, because He knows no defeat. The Almighty is pure and perfect, and when He enters a fight, it is to win. So, try to be in communion with Him.
Now, in those days, Jacob’s sons had to fight wars, because the nations were in the habit of invading each other, especially during the harvest or shortly after it. The purpose of these attacks was to take the produce of others. Therefore, it was necessary to have an army and fight. If they acted any other way, they would starve to death, lose many lives, and their women would be taken away for evil purposes. Be strong in your faith in Jesus so that you don’t lose.
The defeated were left with nothing, but if they made a deal with the invading country, they would have what they needed to survive. However, they would have to pay taxes every year to the victors, with that their dignity ended. The Lord wages our wars and guarantees us both victory and the right to live in safety. Never say yes to the devil, but believe the Word and succeed!
This happens in the spiritual world today. When a person doesn’t have Jesus next to them, the devil and his demons enslave their family members. Today, the evil one uses suffering to tax. However, if a family member receives the Savior, he will become a spiritual warrior and will change the fate of everyone in his household, as we read in Acts 16:31: “So they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
The saved person needs to understand that once converting to the Gospel – the Good News of Jesus’ achievement for mankind – them and their family are covered by the mantle of salvation (1 Corinthians 7:14). Therefore, every Christian must believe in this promise and claim it. There is no way that a loved one can be led to perdition if you exercise the right that Christ has given you. Take advantage now and make this covenant proposed by the Lord.
Our position before God is one of sovereignty over everything that concerns us. According to the Word, Jesus has made us kings and priests to His Father and God: And has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominium forever and ever. Amen! (Revelation 1:6). So take care that the truth does not slip out of your hand, and deception takes over your life. You are free in Jesus!
Watch in prayer! Thus, your house will be saved. God’s promises refer to us, they only need our yes. According to the Scriptures, we already have Jesus´ approval: For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God, through us (2 Corinthians 1:20). Never say, “I can’t,” because you can!
In Christ, with love,

God of the final decision! Your servant David knew this and, upon hearing Your no, soon informed Your people of this direction. We have to be Your servants and we can never go against Your decisions, which, by the way, are the best we can get!
We don't know ourselves as You know us. By Your mercy, we beg forgiveness for our sins, health for our souls, and courage to go all the way. We don't want to stop loving You. Help us!
For us, the important thing is to walk before You in love, to do Your will as You wish, and never draw back. When You want, use us, and if we are not ready, before Your voice reaches us, prepare us so that we will not shame You.
