Please say you are my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that I may live because of you.” Genesis 12:13

Abraham’s sojourn into Egypt was not a wise decision he took. When he realized that the Egyptians could kill him he asked his wife Sarah to help him by saying that she was his sister. Had he not left where God wanted him to stay, he would not have had to suffer this embarrassment and danger. Those that are in service to the Lord must know and remember that He is the authority over their lives. To this end, for everything that they desire – a job, a new house and even any consumer items they must seek wise direction.

These are the times when we may be found in the middle of the enemy’s doings.  Then fear overtakes our hearts.  But as members of the Body of Christ we must seek the proper counsel from Above, so that there will be no later regrets. Seek and strive to live in faith in Jesus, guiding your behavior with discipline from the Holy Scripture to ponder and make your decisions.

Abraham did not lie but offered a half- truth, hiding part of the truth.  This points out that the men of God from those days were not always different from us.  Had he not descended into the land whose symbol represents sin, he would not have involved himself in so tragic circumstances, which almost made him lose his wife.  Determine and decide to keep your marriage holy because the adulterers and fornicators will be living under a curse.

Many lose their spouse to something they don’t really know, but it is good to know why they suffered the error, so that when repentance comes, there may be salvation.  How can anyone love God and say so to Him and be in adultery? Those that insist in erring become a tool for the enemy in their own home.  If you want to be into eternal salvation you have to undo the error, telling the whole truth to your husband or to your wife, to obtain forgiveness.

The absence of the fear of God is what leads people to cheat on their spouse. Even if it were necessary to die so as not to be tainted, the saved should never deny their spouse the fidelity they swore in their marriage vows, because by being a servant of God, what He approves will always be the best for either of them.  Be careful and fearing. Settle with the Most High and the spouse that you betrayed. God did not send Abraham to Egypt but He knew how to get him out of there.  Ask Him to get you out too!

Live for the love of Christ and on this journey the Heavenly virtue that lies over you will be so great that somebody will confuse things.  It is up to you to say no to the devil’s antics, being watchful and not falling for his deceptive talk. The saved have already mortified their flesh and its cravings and to them adultery is detestable.

Abraham was doing well in Canaan. The Most High had appeared to him and promised beautiful things. From there he went East and set up his tents in Bethel and cried out in the name of the Lord. Then he went South and witnessed hunger in that land. Then, without asking the Almighty he decided to go down to Egypt where he suffered greatly but God protected and saved him. Amen!

In Christ, with Love,

Oh God!  What would have happened to Abraham and Sarah, with Your plan to bring the Savior from them, if You had not wounded the Pharaoh with serious and great plagues?  The patriarch’s painful heart was appeased by Your intervention. We love you!

The world needs to know people that serve You in truth, fulfilling and obeying Your will and observing You in action. The king of Egypt never dared to take anyone’s wife in any way again to avoid suffering what he went through.

Abraham left Egypt with great and many gifts.  Certainly they were given in recognition for his faith.  All kneeled and bowed down  to him as he left Egypt escorted and protected by  strong and brave Egyptian soldiers, taking all that belonged to him. Thank You for your care. Amen!
