That I may glory with Your inheritance.

Psalm 106:5c

The Scriptures assure us that we are heirs of God and co-heirs with Jesus (Romans 8:17). That means we can do what He did and that what we have inherited is not a minor thing; because otherwise, Christ, being God\’s only Son would not have inherited anything. The truth is that everything He did, taught and promised was because He knew that as the Son of God all things were at His disposal.
Isaiah says that our heritage is reflected in the ability to destroy every weapon formed against us (Isaiah 54:17). So it would be foolish of us to think about a heritage of material wealth – such as, for example, the gold that covers the streets of Heaven. The Word of God is clear about the Lord’s accuracy when revealing something to us. When He spoke of our heritage, He was not using any figure of speech.
Our heritage goes beyond the capacity of destroying all weapons formed against us; it includes the condemnation of any tongue that rises against us in judgment. So it does not matter what name men give to deadly illnesses – cancer, AIDS etc. – because what matters is that we will condemn all things that dare charge against our lives. No trap will prevail as an attempt to hinder our success and keep us from obeying God\’s voice.
The plans of the enemy should never be taken seriously, because he will never wish us well, and no matter how hard he tries he cannot hit us. We belong to God and we have the power to frustrate the onslaughts of the enemy; after all, in all things we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37), and nothing – absolutely no evil – can defeat us. Never forget that our heritage is far greater than the devil’s capacity. Thus, let us live peacefully and safely in the hands of Him who made us His heirs.
The good thing about all this is that the more there are heirs of God, the more we will be blessed, because each person that we take to Christ
becomes an heir of the Father and co-heir with the Lord and with us. Therefore, as we lead people to salvation, we will have our reward increased. On the other hand, with the secular heritage, the more there are heirs, the poorer the heritage of those who remain in the world.
Our message should not be of condemnation, but of hope and solution. We have to show everyone how much it is worth belonging to God and, at the same time, how much we profit when we obey the command to evangelize, because the promise is: \”Give and it will be given to you” (Luke 6:38a). So my brother, rejoice in your inheritance!
