Days later, the word of the Lord came again to Haggai (whose meaning is festive), commanding him to speak to Zerubbabel (which means born in Babylon). He was the leader of the first group that returned from the Babylonian captivity. The Lord also included Joshua (which denotes Jehovah is salvation), son of Jehozadak, high priest, in the communiqué. When a man of God is in fellowship with Heaven, the prophetic word will come to comfort, exhort, and edify His people (1 Corinthians 14:3). He speaks!
Pay attention to the message of God’s servant, without worrying who he is or if he presents the subject well, because the Lord is the one who uses him. He knows how to transmit the message to those who need guidance. When we ourselves choose the right person to give us the heavenly warning, we do not wait for the Father to speak to us. It is good to understand the openings made in the Rock by God, for the waters to come out of them.
If you are in the Spirit, you will understand when the Most High is speaking. Then you will take the right action. Jesus said: He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God (Revelation 2:7). It is clear: The heavenly Father wants His children to win, for He promises rewards to the victor! Even if you don’t understand the message, hold on to it, because there is a blessing in it.
David had been preparing a lot of material for the building of the temple for most of his life. However, when God told him that his son Solomon would build it, David didn’t question or feel sad. He knew about it before Solomon was born and continued to save everything that came his way, because he was aware of the great work to come. Whoever loves the work of Heaven does not resent if another is chosen for a greater mission, because he is a servant!
The expression used by Haggai can be used to identify the Church of Christ in the days of Jesus and the apostles, as well as the Church of today. The latter, although rich and pompous, whose members have plenty of financial resources, is nothing more than a social club. There, old and new hymns are sung, some beautiful, that speak of the goodness of God. But the divine power of healing and deliverance of Jesus’ days is no longer present.
What consoles us is that churches have emerged around the world ministering the complete Gospel, where the faith preached is identical to that of the beginning of the Church, without fad, but with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which give comfort and deliverance to the people. There will never be a substitute for the power of God. Everything that comes from man is rejected by the Lord. What is really delightful is to see the genuine conversions that have taken place in our midst. To Him be the glory!
I believe that, before the great apostasy, prophesied by the Lord himself, using the Church of Laodicea – which will be the last of all times – the Church of Philadelphia will come, which is the one of our days (Revelation 3:7-13). This one will grow a lot and will do the works of the Most High like the first apostles. The lost will have the opportunity to convert and escape eternal damnation. Let us pray and be vigilant to be part of Christ’s Church.
In Christ, with love,

Lord! Some people witnessed the glory of Your temple built by Solomon, but upon returning from captivity, they saw it as nothing. This was sad, heartbreaking. They couldn't believe that You would abandon them!
How many have turned away from Your presence, because they have not believed Your message and already feel the sentence of the Day of Judgment? Father, look at those who walk as the blind and give them the repentance that can produce salvation.
In those days, many thought only of superfluities. They could afford to live in luxury, but they were not rich for You, nor did they want to repent in order to escape condemnation in Babylon. May the lesson be learned and the lost turn back to You!
