Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I will fear no evil; for You are with me;Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23.4

Every servant of God needs to learn that the divine plan for his life must be guided by the Holy Spirit, which proves that he belongs to the Lord (Rom 8.14). This is extremely important, for those who rebel against this order become unprotected. Now, if the enemy sees that you are acting under your own direction, and not the Lord’s, he can make use of it and attack you. It does not matter where the Most High may lead you; He will go ahead of you to give you complete success.

This subject is very relevant, for in truth, God is everywhere. The fact that He goes ahead of you means that the gates will be opened to you automatically. With the divine power surrounding and strengthening you, you will be used in the same way as the heroes of faith were. How beautiful it is to know this truth and not to fear the traps that come our way during our walk. When we are guided by the Lord, we only collect victories.

This does not mean that the Lord will not direct us to places where the “complaining and childish” Christian will immediately complain. Those who proceed in such a way show that they are still children in the faith, not knowing their rights and power reserved in Christ. The valley may be dangerous, with the shadow of death, but with the Omnipotent ahead of you, no satanic arrow will strike you. The secret is to obey and never fear the painting of the demon.

The Most High God loves us all, but He can only be Himself with those who believe in His Word and confess it fearlessly. This is why we should preach the Gospel to our relatives, friends, and other people – so that they might come to the knowledge of the Truth, which is not theoretical, but a product of our battles and victories. Our struggle is not against or in favor of any religion, for those who incline for such a discussion fall in the traps of the devil.

Inside the message of the Gospel, we must learn and teach that the “rod” of discipline is for our own good. It is the Word that rebukes us when we act wrongly and it makes us feel bad when we give a harsh answer, demonstrate lack of love, or waste the chances given by the Most High. Never refuse this blessed “rod” in your back, for it will make you an exemplary Christian throughout all situations.

As for the staff, we must desire it to always be used, for it gives us prudence, wisdom, and frees us from the attacks of the evil one. It also scares the “wild animals” that come to destroy us. The staff is heavy, and sometimes, when it is stretched by someone, in order to take us away from a precipice, we even think that it hurts us. However, the Word declares that the Righteous may “strike” us, for even so, it will help us as if we received precious oil on our heads that we should never neglect (Ps 141.5).

There is nothing better than the Lord’s consolation, for it is complete and satisfies all our needs. May you, from now own, love the “rod” of heavenly discipline and the blessed staff of the Lord. Then, the Most High will protect you and comfort you. Now, those who are guided by the Spirit of God prove that they are children of God (Rom 8.14).

In Christ, with love,

Marvelous Pastor! What a joy it is to know that You, our good Pastor, are everywhere with Your immense power. Therefore, there is nothing to fear or to doubt, so that the devil may not find any breach in our faith to attack us.

Even if the valley is dangerous, filled with traps, and with death itself making a shadow, we will fear no evil. Even if the enemy strives to separate us from You, we know that You will never leave us or forsake us. Thank You, Friend!

You are with all those who believe in Your Word and confess it without fearing evil. When You use Your rod to discipline us, You do it for our own good. Your staff protects us from all our enemies, and therefore, we remain free.
