No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse.    Matthew 9.16

Jesus announced that God was doing a new work, the Gospel, the Good News that He forgives people’s transgressions and heals sickness, pain and illness, as well as solves people’s problems. He not only said this, but he also proved it to be true, by fulfilling all sorts of wonders (Acts 10;38). This work will bring the lost back to the Father and be saved!

The Savior’s accomplishments fulfilled the Law of Moses in order to save mankind from darkness (Mark 5.17). The Most High did not put a piece of unshrunk cloth on the old garment of the Law. Those who gave Him credit were rescued, but those who didn’t accept the Good New did not ear salvation (John 5.24). Today the same thing happened to those who leave this decision for later. When listening to God’s voice, the person needs to repent immediately. The divine voice is your last chance ( 2 Corinthians 6.2). 

We cannot go back to the religion of our ancestors, for it is the distortion of the Master’s teachings. Religion has traces of the truth, but it has added to the simple and powerful faith in Christ several dogmas that are useless and even alter the original faith. You cannot worship images or the servants of God of the past ( Luke 4.8). The apostle Peter did not allow Cornelius to kneel before him, saying that he was a man like him (Acts 10:25, 26). Reflect! 

Old garments need to be put away, because they have already fulfilled their role, but the Word is alive and still effective (Psalm 119.89). As we are baptized in the Holy Spirit, we come to understand the Scriptures as God reveals them to us. We don’t have to create doctrines or put a heavy yoke on people who seek the Lord. The right thing is to carry the message announced by Jesus and do the same works He did. God is the same!

How many times did the rich man in the parable told by Jesus heard God speak to him and did nothing? He knew who Abraham was and, once he found himself in eternal torment, he cried out for help, but nothing more could be done to even ease his suffering (Luke 16.19-24). The Word says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation ( 2 Corinthians 6.2). Anyone who misses this chance will later find out they have no more time to redeem themselves!

Don’t negotiate your eternal happiness. Understand: the devil offers to grant your wishes, demanding that you stay by his side forever. However, flee from everything that is demonic, for it will lead you to damnation. God already has you in His plan of salvation, having laid the entire burden of sin on Jesus. The price has already been paid, all you need to do is say “yes” to the Savior. Then you will experience what your mind has never thought, your ear has never heard and your eyes have never seen ( 1 Corinthians 2.9). 

Take your stance now before the Father and be freed from temptations and errors. You are God’s best, so you must do your best for Him. The Lord knows your heart, but the attitude is yours. He has been with you for a long time, and His love has been revealed to you; so, do something right now. Tell Him your decision. Believe and live!
