From the nations of whom the LORD had said to the children of Israel, “You shall not intermarry with them, nor they with you. Surely they will turn away your hearts after their gods.” Solomon clung to these in love.  1 Kings 11:2

Many people see no problem in the fact that Solomon married an Egyptian woman, because the Bible does not directly speak of this prohibition. However, since the author of God’s Word is the Holy Spirit, we have to accept that the king erred, because the key verse explains the text of Deuteronomy 7:3: “Nor shall you make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to their son, nor take their daughter for your son.” The prohibition did not concern only those seven nations!

The Most High explained why He forbade the union of a Hebrew with a Gentile, because His heritage – the children of the marriage – would not be well taught by non-Israelite mothers. He spoke of His caution as follows: For they will turn your sons away from following me, to serve other gods; so the anger of the LORD will be aroused against you and destroy you suddenly (Deuteronomy 7:4). If this was true in the time of the Law, how much more in the time of the new wine!

It´s sad to remember that Solomon’s wisdom was covered by his lustful desire to prove what the Law forbade, as if the Law did not apply to him. However, we are equal before the Lord. Never let the devil lead you to disregard the Biblical precepts, because you will pay such a high price, and the error does not compensate for the eternal loss. Now, I am not saying that Solomon was not saved, but he will certainly have to answer for his disobedience to the Most High.

Many have acted like David´s son, but no mistake should be imitated. To think that, in your case, God understands, is to say that the Bible is not to be believed. Those who sin consciously will realize that their forgiveness will be much more difficult than those who were unaware of the prohibitions of the Lord´s Word. In any situation, put yourself under the direction of the Highest and you will not suffer. The Almighty loves those who love and seek Him!

The only love that can unite us to someone other than our spouse – is God’s, His essence. By walking according to the Scriptures, you will live better than the followers of the prince of darkness, who lie without the slightest remorse. Those who walk with the Lord realize that He is on their side, but the reprobate in faith feel nothing, because sin has blinded their understanding. Watch and pray so that you don’t fall!

God’s promises are fulfilled, so anyone who lets himself be led by “love” to someone who is not a member of the Body of Christ will face tribulations during their life. On Judgment Day, what explanation will that person give for disregarding divine guidance? Well, we have already passed from death to life. Why do that which will lead us to receive punishment before the judgment seat of Christ? It is worth being considered naive and someone who does not know how to “enjoy life”. The most important thing is to avoid eternal death!

You have been called to be a member of God´s family. So, don’t allow them to make you sin:  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1).
