So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep.  Genesis 28:11

It was only Jacob set foot on the road that Heaven opened for him. The road was long and dangerous, but as he was obeying the divine command, he would have no problems, but would see the manifestations of God, who would never leave him alone. Similarly, this happens today to all who are obedient to the Lord. As they begin to do what they are told, the Father manifests Himself to them. The Most High never stands idly by; He works all the time.

Jacob walked until the sun went down, wasting no ray of light. To be sure, he did not complain about the distance to go in order to find his wife, but he was happy under the blessing of his father, in which he would always be honored. In fact, he already fulfilled the word given by Jesus some time later: He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me; and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him (John 14:21). There is reward for the obedient!

This servant of the Lord did not look for a place to lie down; He soon found a stone to protect him, and then bent his head to it. Always having a rock, a promise from God, to serve as a headboard is a great idea. Indeed, in all our actions – even the simplest, such as sleep – we must be under the guidance of the Most High. As you are guided by Him, you will be amazed at what will happen to you.

Try never to lie down without direction from above or be where you know the Lord is not. As long as He is directing your steps, why try to understand what happens during the walk? If God asks you for something, obey, for it is by giving you receive. Your dreams must bow to His plan, which is better, perfect, and will never be undone. The secret is to love God; after all, whoever does this is loved by him.

Jacob dreamed of a ladder set on the earth whose top touched the heavens. It was the Lord showing him that he watched over him. The details of the dream demonstrate that he was protected by beings who were in contact with God. Whatever happened there would be good for him. Similarly, if we are being guided by the Father, we need to remain confident because the Omnipotent is in control.

Those who are inattentive to or failing to obey the Lord will eventually see this attitude as bad. Putting your plans in front of God’s will entail failures and pain that were not planned for you. Therefore, listen to what He says, for it is infinitely better than the words of man. The Most High has confirmed His promises to Jacob. For those who obey Him, the Lord will confirm His Word.

The Almighty will fulfill what He has revealed to you. However, one must walk by faith and not by sight, nor give ears to man. In your relationship with God, there is no place for anyone to interfere, even if it is your spouse, family, or friends. Heavenly Father declares: This is my beloved Son; I have heard him (Mk 9: 7b).
