14/09/2012 - ONE OF THE ADVANTAGES OF BEING RIGHTEOUS

Surely he will never be shaken; the righteous will be in everlasting remembrance.

Psalm 112:6

Men are justified the moment they accept Jesus as their Savior and Lord, which means that they have been acquitted of all guilt or accusation which weighed heavily upon them. Once their sins are forgiven their “record” will become as clean as if they had never transgressed. As men fulfil the commandments of the Lord they take a firm commitment to being righteous and in doing so they become heirs and heiresses of the blessings and promises contained in the Bible.

Those who don’t bow to the Word will never enjoy the delight of being called righteous. Disobedience to the Most High keeps people from attaining the divine promises and precisely for that reason they won’t be able to exert all their rights in Christ. On top of that, not being recognized as righteous will cause them a great harm since they won’t be protected by the divine power. Whenever they need heavenly assistance, even if they pray to that end, they won’t get answered.

Those who pay no heed to what the Lord says show, in the very least, that they have not fully understood that serving Christ is about giving oneself thoroughly to the Word of God. Jesus taught we should live by “every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). Those who live by the Divine Word are strengthened and, as a result, their prayers and commands get answered. Those who despise our Father’s voice will be deprived of the help from on High.

Everybody’s tempted. Temptation may come as a disease or the urge for doing something wrong. Those who aren’t qualified as righteous will, by all means, fall into sin. Those who belong to God may even be lured into giving up on their holiness, but when they’re about to commit an error their heart will feel the touch of Holy Spirit and then they’ll run away from sin.

Because the righteous are obedient to the Lord they’ll never be shaken. If they fail to fulfil the commandments, they may be hit by the fiery darts of the wicked one. Besides the blessings that are poured out on lives of those who heed the Most High, there will also be rewards in the eternity for those who have decided to do the will of our Father. Since God’s faithful He won’t forget his promises.

Another fact which is of the utmost importance is that the righteous will be remembered forever and undoubtedly it’s due to the fact that they’re promoting the continuity of the wonders, miracles and signs performed by the apostles in the book of Acts. The work that God commissions you to do will be in everlasting remembrance. But the unrighteous – even while they’re still here on earth, no matter how much they yearn and strive – won’t experience our Father’s love. Unless you pay heed to the Word you won’t be helped by the Most High.

Strive to be the righteous of the Lord! You’ll only derive benefits of such position! Our God never forgets those who do good, though that good may be considered of lesser significance to men. Therefore, commit all your might and your heart so that you do whatever your hand finds to do, just as the Lord wishes.

In Christ, with love,
