He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:13-14
The Word of God does not exaggerate and neither does it trifle when it reveals what occurred to men because of Adam’s sin. Well, that deliberate and insane act pushed us into the kingdom of darkness and turned the devil into the lord over mankind; then men started to be guided by the prince of the hosts of the air, conducted by evil forces and dominated by passions and other sins. The price to take us out of that pit was high: God had to send His only Son, Jesus, for Him to die in our place thus paying all our debt. Christ suffered and bore all our sins and transgressions (Isaiah 53:12).
Since the fall, the authorities of hell began ruling over us and guided us according to the desire of our enemy. There was not even one of them that was righteous, they had fallen short of the divine glory (Romans 3:23) and gotten lost in the paths of error. Yet, the Lord Jesus brought the grace of God and along with it He also brought forgiveness and rebirth. Today, because of what Christ did to us we are free from the kingdom of evil. We were taken away from the power of hell and conveyed to the Kingdom of Truth and holiness – the Kingdom of God. The scepter of wickedness no long rests upon us.
So, not only did God save us, but He also took us away from under that evil power; now we are in the Kingdom of the beloved Son of God. The dominion of evil cannot rule over us or hit us any longer – if we comply with the divine will, not even the lightest temptation will ever be able to exert influence on us. Today, our position is that of complete separation from the evil forces. No assault from the enemy shall prosper against any child of the Most High (Isaiah 54:17) as long as they keep on being sheltered under the wings of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1).
The good news is that we were not just conveyed into any place in the world of freedom – which, in itself, would already be good enough – but into the Kingdom of the Son of God’s love, the Kingdom of righteousness, peace, healing, success and of all other blessings. Now that we take part in that blessed Dominion there is nothing to fear because our life is sheltered in Jesus. Throughout eternity, we will not be touched by the enemy of our souls ever again. The devil has lost and he will never manage to get up on his feet again.
In Jesus we already have redemption. This will not happen in the future, but it is has already taken place and it is at our disposal now, regardless of what we do or the position we have in our life. It was not a decree issued by God that gave us the wonderful honor of being called His children, but the death of Jesus on the cross of the Calvary and His resurrection.
We were bought by too high a price, which was thoroughly paid, and therefore we are free from the law of sin and death. The law of life and success rules over us. So, do live as a true child of God and enjoy the best prepared for those who belong to the Lord.
