Woe to men mighty at drinking wine, Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink…    Isaiah 5.22

Many people are senseless to error, committing atrocities and apparently feeling nothing. A biblical example is the adulterous woman, who has strayed so far from the pure life that she sees no evil in her promiscuous life: This is the way of an adulterous woman: she eats and wipes her mouth, and says, “I have done no wickedness.” (Proverbs 30.20). Those who are indifferent to sin are near eternal damnation. We must intercede for them now!

Woe to the politicians who claim to be God’s children and make speeches full of moral – sometimes biblical – quotes, but only vote in favor of some project if they receive bribes. This way of acting is evil, not only because of the bribery, but also because of the lack of shame and fear of God. Many even give the tithe of the dirty money put into their hands. It’s as if they are calling the Lord their partner. Poor ones!

Some collude with evil people to appoint administrators in public administration sectors in order to extort and enrich themselves. They justify their acts by saying that what they have received is political campaign money. On the Day of Reckoning, they will cry for the Lord’s mercy, using their “good deeds”. Now, nobody does anything good with that which belongs to someone else. Why do they do this and other things that are not recommendable?

It’s no use being powerful to drink wine and avoid the convincing of the Holy Spirit intended for beginners in error. By acting like this, you will lose your dignity and salvation. Those who wish to go up with the Lord must strive for the Truth, for a clean life, resisting any temptation and the devil’s excuses to justify sin, saying that no one will know, that everyone does it and there’s nothing wrong with it; after all, you didn’t tell anyone to do wrong and it’s just a “help”. Stand firm in the faith!

The mere fact that something catches your attention is a sign from the Holy Spirit, alerting you that you are committing some transgression and beginning your submission to the enemy. Flee from seductive hugs, crocodile tears, and “innocent help”. Drink only from your own cistern and not from the well of whoredom (Proverbs 5.15-20). Be content with what is due to you; otherwise, later on you will discover that the devil gives nothing by chance, but tries to win your soul and destroy your life.

Much affliction awaits those who are heroes in drinking wine and boast about the amount of liquor they drink. The Word of God instructs us to flee from anything bad, even if it is something small, because it will be the beginning of the devil’s action: Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me (Psalm 42.7). Resist sin; thus, you will never be used in someone’s downfall!

Flee from strong drinks; after all, you are God’s saint. Don’t let yourself be used or use that which is not clearly revealed by the Most High. You are one of the servants of God’s righteousness, so, try to present yourself to Him as an approved worker. That which looks like a help today will be your downfall tomorrow. There is still time for repentance!

In Christ, with love,

Lord of the sober and honest! You warn us about the influence of the forces of darkness, which corrupt Your most dedicated servants. Our request is that Your grace will deliver us from temptations, so that we may never fall into the hellish snares!

We thank You for making us understand Your beautiful plan, in which we are kept from the evil that destroys even the well-meaning ones. Why walk outside Your loving plan and fall into endless perdition? We are happy, because You are our God!

We do not want to be strong to drink wine, but we want to be strengthened by Your anointing. We refuse to mix strong drinks, for there is no place for them in our lives. There is only Your Spirit, which prepares us for the battles of faith!
