I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.  Galatians 5:16

The unbridled desires offered by the flesh do too much damage to Christians in their love for God. However, if they follow the Holy Spirit’s instructions, they will never heed the temptations that try to take them away from the Lord’s presence. The psalmist asked how God’s children can keep their hearts pure: How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word (Psalm 119.9). Practical and easy recipe!

Every person, upon reaching puberty, goes through a tremendous change in their body. Some people get carried away by current fashions, not only in clothing, but also, and especially, in customs, and fall into the enemy’s clutches. The Bible states: Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him (1 John 2.15). The good professional takes the time to study and improve himself; in faith, it should be the same.

The recipe is to walk in the Spirit – but how? Certainly, it is not to live in a mystical way or to recite the Bible every time you speak, but to guide your life by the Scriptures. In fact, the saved person should strive to be in a good and cheerful mood in order to serve God. As for the offerings of the evil kingdom, let’s move on, paying no attention to the devil (James 4.7). After all, we are part of the New Covenant!

David’s fall would have been avoided if he had not watched Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11.1-5). Now, that which comes from the enemy does not come to one who rests in the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91.1-4). However, the person who plays with the tempter will sooner or later pay the price for their actions. It is our obligation to honor the Lord’s command by preventing the tempter from finding any loophole in us: nor give place to the devil (Ephesians 4.27). Be a servant of God always!

Often, we see – or hear about – someone suffering from some evil and do nothing. The saved person must remember that he is a soldier on a mission. So, if suffering strikes anyone, he, at the very least, needs to pray. The Word says that the intercession made by the righteous can have great effect: Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5.16). There is power!

Most brethren do not know the ability they have been given in Christ Jesus for their prayer to be operative. The apostle Paul spoke of this: To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily (Colossians 1.29). Remember: we must be active in faith at all times. In this way, divine power will act in the lives of those afflicted because they have no knowledge. Pray and believe!

May the Lord give every Christian the ability to walk in the Spirit, drifting neither to the left nor to the right! In this way, he will remain in his position in Christ. Never give yourself over to the unbridled desires of the flesh. If you do, the evil spirits will have accomplished Satan’s mission. We are strengthened when our aim is to love God – to have and to keep His commandments. Continue steadfast in the faith until the end!

In Christ, with love,

Father! We do not want to give in to the flesh in order to satisfy the devil’s will. We desire to go from faith to faith, bearing good witness to the Truth. We don't accept to go against the grain, nor stay away from the battle, because the world must receive the Good News of justification by faith in Christ!

Help us to understand Your plan, to do Your will and follow Your direction. Your love is all we need. With it, we are blessed with all the blessings that are found in Jesus our Lord. Thank You for giving us faith in the Savior!

Deliver us from unmeasured passions! We can never leave Your presence. Your favor keeps us standing, but temptations bring us down. We pray to have Your power guarding us always. Lord, lead us not into temptation. Deliver us, Father!
