I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. When my enemies turn back, they shall fall and perish at Your presence.

Psalm 9:2-3

David’s victories made him rejoice in the Lord. You must be victorious too because victory is good and makes us rejoice. The Bible states that a merry heart makes a cheerful countenance and cheers our spirit up again (Proverbs 15:13). With a broken spirit we go through life without enjoying the gifts that God created for us.
The Word of God also warns us that we must serve the Lord with a joyful heart. Therefore, if someone tries to serve Him otherwise, they will be wasting their time. If you follow the divine instructions you will never stumble or do anything unnecessary.
There are two ways to live life: jumping out of happiness or dragging ourselves with sadness. As you use the authority that was granted to you by the Most High you will jump with contentment. That kind of attitude will do a tremendous good to your heart because it will prepare you for other combats of which you will certainly come out victorious. As a result, your humor and the relationship you have with your family will improve. You will also relate much better with other people by bearing witness to them that serving God is wonderful.
Another good and blessed attitude is singing praises to the Name of Jesus – those composed by other people and those that the Holy Spirit will grant you. When you sing songs about the capacity of the Name that is above all names and about the help we find in Him our hearts are strengthened and, thus, we stand in the right position to do the divine work. Those who do so will see that the next battles will be easier for them.
When David went to a battle he did it in the Name of the Lord and in His strength. So, the enemy retreated and was defeated before the face
of God. Do try to face your fights by following what the Scriptures teach in the Name of Jesus and the enemy will retreat. Seeking the Lord constantly is the secret will turn you into a winner in all battles. If you do so the devil will not prevail.
Apart from so much revelation contained in the verse that opens today’s message, there is one that I would like you not to forget. If the devil retreats and nothing else is done against him, he will certainly be strengthened and will come back to assault you. David knew that by seeking the face of the Most High, which shines brighter than the Sun, the loser would not only retreat but he would also fall, so the psalmist would be able to put an end, once and for all, to the enemy’s capacity of tormenting him.
That work was done with such mastery that David declared in that verse that his adversaries would fall and perish before God’s presence. That must also occur with the temptations that come over you. You must not accept the enemy to come back to harass you. Therefore, take your stand in Christ and be firm and watchful and your opponents will perish before the Lord!
In Christ, with love,
