And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” Genesis 22:8

Abraham’s obedience was rooted in his knowledge of divine faithfulness, so he walked steadily to Moriah. God would show him the mountain of sacrifice and provide the lamb. When you are in a trial, do not be fooled by the appearance of things, but take into account the wisdom of the Lord shown in the Word. He never changes His purpose with every step you take, but it strengthens you to go to the end. Go ahead!

Since the heavenly Father has declared that there is no change in Him (Mal 3.6), stand firm in His revelations. Men change, hide and seek their own interest, but with the Lord, this will never happen. He is pure and holy love at all times. Caution! Do not fall into the traps of the devil, who struggles to get you back to his kingdom.

Abraham was not an adventurer who thought he heard a voice telling him to leave his homeland and go to a place to be shown to him. He knew the Creator perfectly and was confident that the Lord would never direct him to a disastrous end. Certainly, the patriarch’s experience with God was the result of much prayer. Abraham must have refused several offers from the enemy to have an easy life.

This servant of God walked with Isaac by his side, but he did not deceive him about the purpose of having gone to the mountain. In his heart, he was sure that the Lord would fulfill His Word, which had won him long ago. That was part of his “training”, and Abraham would not refuse to go through it. He walked by faith, not understanding that that trial was a symbol of God’s surrender of His Son, the true Lamb.

The Lamb would be sacrificed two thousand years later in Jerusalem, the land of Moriah. He would not come only to please the Father, or to look at man without seeing sin in him. Its aim would be to destroy those who had the power of death: Satan. The day of vengeance was scheduled, and that test was part of the teaching we needed to receive. Thus, we would feel how much the Father loves us. He loved us to the end!

By calling Isaac my son, Abraham was sure that no harm would come to him. The saved were born in the Kingdom of Heaven because of the patriarch’s faith and perseverance. So never give up on who the Lord has placed before you. Without a doubt, this person and so many others are part of the work designed for you to do. The Lord will direct and use it according to His will.

We can walk together with the Father, because even though we are unfaithful, He will remain faithful. After all, He can deny Himself. If you are wrong, bow down to the God who provided the Lamb who took away the sin of the world (John 1:29). Be part of the people saved from this moment on. It’s your decision!

In Christ, with love,
