“The song of songs which is Solomon’s” (Songs 1:1)
As we read the book of Songs we can see Solomon was chosen by the Lord; he let himself be used by God to write about the love of Jesus to His church. Likewise, we cannot miss any opportunity to compose our songs and serve the Almighty One.
The fear of God was one of Solomon’s qualities, which is why the Lord invested him with wisdom, prosperity and other blessings. He let himself be used by the Most High, and everybody that does the same will surely find out that it’s the right way to succeed in all things; the divine plans are infinitely better than ours.
Sensible people should allow the Lord to teach them, whenever they’re visited by Him, because He’ll always show them what’s best for their life. My brethren, even if the divine will is not exactly the one you had in mind, you had better fulfill it. Missing out on the opportunity to take part in the work the Lord prepared for our generation is to commit a huge mistake. Those who quit their heavenly career to get tangled in the “financial forest” or in any other earthly activity are definitely losing their best income source which will be revealed to them in eternity! Being wealthy with God is much better than owning all the worldly riches.
Well, God doesn’t choose people at random. He’s perfect and He knows why He calls some specific men and women to do His work. He knows everything about us much more than we can ever imagine. So, don’t tell Him you don’t speak in public, or that you’re too young or that you have some kind of flaw. Those who are chosen by God to accomplish any mission, whatever it might be, should rejoice and get involved in it as soon as possible.
As we mentioned before, Solomon was used to show the love of the Bridegroom (which figuratively typifies Christ) towards His Bride (His Church, that is, all of us). The author of the Book of Songs expresses the tenderness and the joy they must feel for each other and he also gives a warning so that we are not harassed by the enemy.
Solomon wrote those Songs but, obviously, they were inspired by the Holy Spirit. Likewise, everything we do to God belongs to us and we must always give Him praises for that creation. If only we let our Father use us, He will always tell what to say and what is the right decision to make in all circumstances. But we should always keep in mind that He is the one who guides us through the testimony of the Holy Spirit in His Word.
Get ready to allow the Lord to use you the way He wishes and you’ll be surprised with what He’ll do in your favor. Apart from being much greater than what we can evaluate, the Lord is love and as such He will surely surprise us tremendously!
In Christ, with love,
R. R. Soares
