Then she made a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” 1 Samuel 1.11

The healing of Hannah´s infertility didn’t happen from one day to the next. In the previous verse from the one we are studying, she prayed with bitterness of soul. Just like the example of this maidservant of the Lord, give real importance to what happens to you, even if it´s an affliction, since the Lord can take you to such state of soul for you to cry out as you have to. Since your steps must be driven by Him, don’t try to understand what happens during the way.

Hannah opened her heart to the Most High and, when He visited her, she cried bitterly. So, she understood what she had to do and asked, kindly and hopefully, for God to look down to her anguish and remember her, giving her a male child. This woman put, in the contract, the necessary conditions, not forgetting that such agreement shouldn’t benefit only her.

That maidservant promised she would give the son to the Lord all the days of his life, and that no razor should come upon his head – the vow of the Nazirite. She heard precisely what the Lord wanted from her; so, she was healed and gave birth to Samuel. Well, the prayer must always be a dialog, and the best cry is when we answer to what the Most High speaks through His Word. This is the prayer of faith.

Don’t make vows without reasoning, since God will request them from your hands. Always pay attention to the directions He shows through the Scriptures and, when understanding them, take hold of what belongs to you. Thus, you will realize that the divine work is more simple than you can imagine. Don’t go to church as if you are a member of a club; go to meet the Father and wait for Him to say what He wants you to do.

A contract is ruled by the conditions written in it, and the New Alliance works this way. The conditions with the divine will are listed; God has nothing else to register. Now, the mission of the Holy Spirit is to reveal us what the Lord awaits from us and what He promised to do on our behalf. Our conditions must be written on what the Holy Spirit makes us understand.

The Lord taught us our spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak (Mt 26. 41). The years pass by and many Christians lose the motivation to cry for God and, because of that, the enemy makes them lose what they have already conquered. So, be aware to understand, listen and see what is yours. Once having learnt, watch out not to lose what has been give you. Afterwards, pray not to fall into temptation and so that the enemy doesn’t take what the Most High has given you.
