In all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.

Titus 2: 7, 8

“…in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works”. That was Paul’s message, given to Titus through The Holy Spirit, which serves any children of God indeed. That recommendation shows us that our salvation is much more than just changing religions, works and one’s mind; after all, we’ve come out of the empire of darkness to be conveyed straight into The Kingdom of God (Colossians 1: 13). That’s why many people who aren’t acquainted with The Word will get to know the divine will as they watch our behaviour.

When it comes to the holy doctrine we mustn’t condescend; therefore, everything that can’t be found in The Word of The Lord is to be altogether ignored. Well, what’s reported in The Holy Scripture is not only suitable to lead our conduct but also to make people know the will of our Father. That’s the reason why we have to show ourselves uncorrupted by not allowing our own desires to twist The Words of The Most High.

It’s not right, for instance, to speculate on the divine plans regarding the behaviour of the children of God considering that others might be induced into thinking that that’s not a matter to be taken seriously. Those who are used to kidding or those who don’t show commitment and determination when it comes to telling right from wrong on their journey with Christ have to understand that it’s our duty to show seriousness in our serving The Lord since that’s indeed good and quite productive.

Well, in case we lack information regarding faith we mustn’t turn to men-made fabrications. It’s much fairer to say that we know nothing about this or that matter rather than make up things out of the blue just so we won’t convey the impression that we have no knowledge at all. Only the Lord knows all things; so, if we don’t know understand something at a given moment, it is best to tell the truth to those who are questioning us. Seriousness is a quite important virtue which stands out whenever put into practice.

I feel sorrow to see people ashamedly displaying their stupid silly talking. I remember seeing one day two brothers talking nonsense on the media. It felt so bad since their main objective there was precisely quite the opposite, they were expected to get The Message of The Lord God across! Keep an eye out so that will never happen to you considering that in view of Titus chapter 2 verse 8 our sound speech is to be always holy, not condemned, having nothing evil to say upon us and whatever goes beyond that is coming from the devil (Mathew 5: 37) and he’ll do all he can to make us be used by him in his treacherous schemes.

Our service to God, apart from having a much higher purpose – praising Him – is also to be used to put to shame our adversary. Due to the fact that we aren’t expected to betray The Most High He happens to, now and then, even allow the enemy to throw temptations at us; yet, the devil gets thoroughly frustrated when he realises we’re resisting him. Therefore, you must strive for your attitudes to put Satan to shame.

On top of that, you must never give room to the devil to strike any evil accusation against you. You must struggle so even in the realm of doom demons will – ashamedly for themselves – have to refer to your good reputation. Now, do determine to become a true servant of God, The Most High! That will only benefit you.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
