Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.

Psalm 116:2

God inclines His ear to anyone who seeks Him wholeheartedly. He has no favorites but He can only answer those who walk on the Way. Now, there is no point in praying all the time if you do not do what is written in the Scriptures because you will not receive an answer. Besides, you need to love God – to have His commandments and keep them (John 14:21) – because He can only love those who love Him. My brethren, you will not have the Lord’s company or His help if you just want to satisfy a personal desire, if you pretend not to know that something is wrong and if you depart from God and ask Him for forgiveness without true repentance.

The fact that the psalmist testified that the Lord inclined His ears to him serves as a direction for us. God answers those who do what is recorded in His Word, since the biblical directions are always of great value to those who heed it. Those who walk their own ways discover sooner or later that they acted like fools. Why depart from the path that leads to success to try another way which inevitably will lead you nowhere except to wrongdoings?

So, with the certainty of finding the true way, the psalmist decided that whenever he needed he would call on the Lord. Do the same! If need be, call upon Him as often as you need. Jesus taught that if a brother sins against us and comes up to us asking for our forgiveness, we should forgive him, even if we have to do it 490 times a day. Now, if we, being human, have to forgive every 20 minutes in average, how much more will the Lord who is loving, patient and perfect. Keep this kind of faith.

My brethren, never give up testing and seeing that the Lord is good, do not become weary in doing good to anyone. The Almighty has placed Himself at your disposal to meet your needs. Do not be slothful and never give up because God is faithful to fulfill His holy promises. All He needs is that we exercise our faith, so be bold to enter into His presence and claim your rights in Christ.

The Lord\’s servant must rely on His word until the last moment, for the Most High will honor what He has promised provided he does not give up. God\’s delay in responding to our petition may be due to our not believing the way we should. Now, spiritual matters are very straightforward and righteous. A little carelessness in faith, some dirty thought, a misstep in holiness are enough to separate us from Him. For example, adultery is consummated even before the physical act (Matthew 5:28). However, by following God\’s guidelines, you will discover the pleasure of living by faith, and then you will notice that your journey on earth was a trail of success.

In Christ with love,
