But I will sing of Your power; Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning; For You have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble. (Psalm 59:16)

If you have received help in time of temptation and deliverance from accidents or healing of any illness, make sure to glorify the Most High and render him thanksgiving because the enemy was determined to cause you harm or stain your reputation, so that you would always bear the scars of his evil action.

When, for example, someone is tempted to have an extra marital affair and inexplicably something prevents it from happening it means that person received the deliverance of one of the worst mistakes a human being can make. By the way, Paul was used by God to write that prostitution is a terrible sin, because those who do that sin against their own body (I Corinthians 6:15-20). In Proverbs 6:33 it is written that the wounds and dishonor he will get, and his reproach will not be wiped away.

It is the Lord\’s mercy that surrounds us and keeps us from being used by the devil in his evil purposes. Those who disregard God\’s warning and fall into sin will feel the most miserable of mortals once they realize what they have done. Now, those who manage to escape the wiles of Satan must sing of God’s mercy for without it they would have fallen into the claws of the enemy, probably never to raise again.

It\’s wonderful to be part of God\’s people and far away from evil deeds with our heads held high, without yielding to temptation. The least we can do every day before the sun rises and problems come up is to sing with joy of the Lord\’s mercy. Nobody stands up for himself if not for His mercy, because our enemy tempts everyone and if people manage not to be involved in the dense darkness of sin they must give thanks to the divine mercy. I\’m sure that in eternity the Father will show us how many times He kept the devil from destroying us. Most assuredly, we must praise Him for His mercy.

The day of temptation was marked by the enemy. It would have been a day of anguish when he and his demons attacked our holiness. They would turn us into their prey. Only the Almighty knows what would happen after such an action. But the Lord loved us and saved us. He was our refuge! Thus the devil was defeated and failed to do his terrible will. We are free because our God fought on our behalf.

The Lord was, is and will forever be our place of refuge and complete protection so He must be praised at all times. Thank you, Father!

In Christ with love,

R. R. Soares
