Then a certain Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good testimony with all the Jews who dwelt there, came to me; and he stood and said to me, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight.’ And at that same hour I looked up at him. Then he said, ‘The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know His will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of His mouth.
Acts 22:12-14
Ananias had received from the Lord a clear direction that he should speak all that was ordained to him. When he met Saul, he gave Saul the divine message: that Saul would receive his sight back and know the Lord’s will for his life; Saul would also see Jesus, the righteous one, and Jesus would speak to Him. To make a long story short, Ananias oriented Saul – who later started using his roman name Paul – how he should proceed at that moment, for he understood the Father’s plans.
When a prophet of God delivers a message from heaven, we should believe in it and receive it with joy. As God’s servants, we need His directions for our lives. Therefore, we should do our best to not allow the enemy to steal from us what the Word has announced. Ananias told Saul that the God of the Hebrew nation had designated him to meet the righteous one – Jesus.
Our God is the same God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David and many others who were used to create and conserve the nation of Israel. The secret is to understand what God did through their lives, observing how He protected and used them. God will use us in the same way, for everything that happened in the past was so that we’d serve God with happiness, obtaining success. So don’t take for granted any directions you receive from God.
The Most High gave Saul – and He gave it to us too – a vision, so that Saul would know His plan. This is the secret so that we’ll be victorious in everything. Those who know the divine plans are absolutely sure that they come from God, and they don’t stumble when they’re supposed to say yes or no to situations around them. This way, they’ll always be firm and determined when facing any kind of situation.
It is important for us to look to the righteous one, the Lord Jesus, for those who do this will not be deceived by what the world offers. Christians who don’t focus on what God has for them don’t yet have the vision of the Lord. But those who know Him, follow His paths, and become different from everybody else. To catch a glimpse of Jesus, which is possible through the Word, changes man completely.
Remember that the voice of the Father is powerful, but soft at the same time, and it can be heard when we read and meditate on the Scriptures. When His voice reaches us, faith becomes present; then His directions are provided to us. This way, we shall not fear when we have decisions to make.
Whoever listens to the voice of the Lord has always something to say about Him. The message given to Saul made him complete for the work of God: Saul learned to decide not to suffer. This prescription can bless you also; therefore, have your ears wide open.
